I've been trying to find time to answer,I'm very busy these days... I will incorporate community suggestions into the design in the coming week.

Brokkir - Dev

1.Can you do a version of Mjollnircoin that uses the hammer symbol of the original logo ? The M version makes a nice facing side and the hammer symbol is great for the back side of the coin.

cayars

2. Taking the 2nd one that is blue and gold and making the blue a bit lighter in color and maybe giving the gold a bit more "metal" finish to it.

3. Was wondering if you could try the same color patter with that style.  Change the silver background to a light/medium blue finish and change the silver M to gold

SimkoMiner

4. I like the silver one looking like LiteCoin :-). BTW you could try to change the font to look more ancient.

Hello,

I have a optimization for the miner It gives me nice performance improvements more than 50% increased hashrate Shocked, coincidentally my electricity bill arrived  Sad, would you guys give me some donations if I released to the open or should I keep it for myself for a while to pay for the R&D  Grin? . The optimizations are nothing from the other world but I spend quite some time with trial and error.

Cheers!.

Just curious, why blake? It is not the biggest register pig on the block as it seems..

Didn't test the others, but with 29 bits the masks are ff and f8 so just for the order of the mask it seems logical to me to remove the last 2. Would have to test if there is better performance selecting other algos.

Cheers!

Well, moving groestl alone to CPU would probably relax register pressure enough to run bigger worksizes, especially on GCN 1.1. But I did not test: working on a better groestl implementation than T-tables now.

That could make sense.  So you basically did a hybrid gpu/cpu miner.  I'd be curious to know the overall outcome of total hash rate of:
1) your improved hybrid miner vs
2) combining the total hash rate from cgminer plus the cpu miner.  I know a lot of people run both.

Well, moving groestl alone to CPU would probably relax register pressure enough to run bigger worksizes, especially on GCN 1.1. But I did not test: working on a better groestl implementation than T-tables now.

Hmm, Think I've heard this strategy before. Now, who will release first? Smiley

Fortunately, there are no opensource implementations to copypaste and 'release' Smiley

Battle of the Brains only.  Grin

But curious, besides the challenge of it why?  Are there any groestl coins worth mining right now?

It is still GPU bound, the cpu is used very little ~ 20% for 3 280x in a 6 cores machine. So you can still run the cpu miner if you want to use the other 580%, but I doubt it is profitable  Tongue.

Cheers!.

Thanks a lot!

Here is a couple of things that occured to me:
  • The snakes in the hammer are twisted strangely
  • The "ripples" that start from the center of the coin and move outward are strangely transparent with the hammer (i.e it is not stamped into but drawn over)
  • Very modern depiction of Mjollnir

Just for Info: The original logo is an image of an actual 13th century coin. In it you can see Mjollnir pictured as a cross, in Midieval times this symbol was used by Pagans and Christians. Not only did it help trading between the factions in that time, but it also showed some level of tolerance (and protected identity, as the other person would not be able to guess your religion)

Since Mjollnircoin has some similarities (no restrictions on who can take part,a means to facilitate trading, etc) I prefer to see a a modern version of the "cross-hammer"

MjollnirCoin Pools: block progress over hash rate
Higher hash rates (vertical axis) typically result in more blocks found (more dots along horizontal axis).
Density of dots is indicative of luck - closer together is greater luck, further apart is lower luck.
Luck is a ratio between % of blocks found and % of network hashrate claimed and should ideally hover around 100%.
MjollnirCoin Pools: blocks found last 24hMjollnirCoin Pools: 7-day luck

Mining and pool takes (indicative, not authoritative)
The previous day, 727 blocks with an average reward of 50 MNR were found on the network for a total of 36,400.03 MNR distributed.
At an average network hash rate of 1,265Ghash/s, a miner having 1Ghash/s would have earned approximately 28,742.07 MNR (minus pool fees),
that could be traded for BTC0.1437103582 ($83.42)

Seems a popular request for altcoins - in another coin's thread somebody asked about adding DarkSend / CryptoNote as well.
