Hello Global Denomination Community,

Our recent release of GDN v.0.8.7.0 was intended to perform a hard fork at block #42000 in order to swap out KGW with Digishield. As many of you may have noticed, this hard fork was unsuccessful and resulted in all v.0.8.7.0 wallets to be stuck at block #41999. As a result, we had to fix this flaw in the source code and update the network to v.0.8.8.0. To ensure the update would in fact perform as expected, we proceeded to test and carefully monitor the network privately, rather then immediately release v.0.8.8.0 to the public. During this time we were able to successfully make it through block #42000 and stabilize the network back to ~ 1 minute block times.

We are now finalizing testing by setting up a private test pool with a larger hashrate to ensure Digishield will recalculate the difficulty appropriately. Once we are able to confirm that Digishield is performing correctly we will announce a re-launch date and time through all of our normal channels (Bitcointalk, GDTalk, Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, etc). This will be done to ensure all miners and pool operators have a fair chance to mine GDN when v.0.8.8.0 is released to the public.

We are currently on block #42035 and all blocks mined during this time will NOT be kept by us personally. We WILL setup a voting poll on our official forums at www.GDTalk.org for community members to decide on what we will do with these newly minted GDN coins during this time (https://www.gdtalk.org/index.php?topic=104.0). We want to be transparent and as fair as possible, as we have no desire to unfairly keep these GDN coins.

Also, it is important to note, we noticed a significant hashrate of about 150 MH/s still mining on the oldest version v.0.8.6.2. Anybody mining on v.0.8.6.2 are mining on the original fork and all your coins past block #42000 will not be available when you switch to the new version.

We deeply apologize for any lost mining time and confusion caused during this process. Global Denomination is our number #1 priority and many of us have not slept in over 24 hours. Stay tuned as we announce the official re-launch and update to v.0.8.8.0 in the next few hours. Thank you for patience during this time.

May I suggest we vote on what to do with all of those coins? I would personally like to see it put into the marketing fund first. If we make GDN worth more and more popular we will be able to help the charities more.

Yes. Very good suggestion Tom. Thank you for making it.
We will setup a voting poll on our official forums at www.GDTalk.org for community members to vote on what to do with all the GDN coins mined during this time. I will update the announcement accordingly. Thanks again.

I have setup an official GDN voting poll for the community to decide what to do with the new coins minted during the v.0.8.8.0 fix.

Holding rigs off as well. Infinitypool has my 217 unconfirmed coins, dev, when the fix is released please notify pool operator

As far as coins being minted during fix operation, I treat them as "premine" or "instamine" in my opinion they should be destroyed,
however if % is not too large, I would also vote for a bounty process, but keep the operation very tight.

-or- a combination of two small % kept for bounties and rest destroyed, block explorer should clearly point to "gap" in the blcok chain all nicely exposed for all to see.. investors will absolutely LOVE you.. and miners will point rigs at this coin, because it seems trust is what has been missing in this whole equation... (generally as alt crypto coins is concerned)

you have earned my respect... and trust

Thanks for the continued support guys. It really means a lot to us.

To address any additional concerns: If the community votes to use the coins in the GDN development fund for marketing/PR and bounties, then we will absolutely document every single coin and every single block that was mined during this time. We will also try to mod our block explorer to explicitly label all of these blocks so that investors and users can track exactly what happened to these coins, whether its their destruction, sent to charity, or used in the development fund.

** We have concluded our testing for this evening. We are confident that GDN v.0.8.8.0 and it's now custom Digishield implementation will provide us maximum stability in the future. Also we have safely stopped all mining on v.0.8.8.0 to keep coins minted during this fix to a minimum. We will be announcing an exact date/time for the release of v.0.8.8.0 in a few minutes I believe. Stay tuned. **
