Gmail is more convenient to use and very secure compared to different free web based email services.

Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo mail; same shit, different package. Every one of those is spying on you, so why use any of them?

No signature ad here, because their conditions have become annoying.

Because they provide a convenient, free webmail and if you don't have anything sketchy that you need to hide in your email, what difference does it really make...?
