how to update the client to a newer version without of loosing coins?

Back up your wallet.dat file just in case your .dat file becomes goes corrupt, File > Backup Wallet.

Download the new wallet and replace the old qt.exe with the new qt.exe.  You will not lose your coins as long as you have your wallet.dat file.

if you use Windows, you need to go in your Roaming folder ( type %appdata% in search on your start menu ) and find the GoodCoin folder : make a backup of this folder (zip)
after, go in that folder and delete everything in that folder but KEEP the file called wallet.dat there.
now you can just overwrite the old GoodCoin client with the newer version and run it... It will re-donwload all the blockchain, and your GOOD to go

i think it's really cool that it is not on an exchange already  
community is building up and it's avoiding the p&d traders.
imho, it should wait another month before hitting an exchange.
