a little update on DMD v4 development
we work close together with 3 developers who will push forward coding and also help our sisterproject artis to finish its code upgrade
this is needed as we can not relay and trust on lab10 to finish it alone
we are willing to do our part to make sure honeybadger/posdao with an attached dao governance development get finished in a way as DMDv4 roadmap did plan it
as this was from start on a shared codebase and shared effort to finish it
we are more then willing to contribute our part to make it happen
what does that mean regarding timeframe
a q2 release is not possible at all
we hope for a q4 2020 if things go well
if problems arise it can be later too
BUT the imporatant part is we keep working on it
meanwhile open ethereum node client which will be the non honeybadger/posdao other half of our client had a new release and show a healthy enviroment with many contributing teams
things look still bright for diamond future!

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

today or tomorrow we have our "mini" halving means the first day with less then 500 new DMD generated a day https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dmd/#!overviewBTC did change from 1800 BTC per day towards 900 BTC per day for the next 4 years DMD is by fare more scarce less DMD Diamond then bitcoin exist and less new ones produced around 2028 the amount of daily generated DMD will be ~100 DMD per day bitcoin at 2028 will have 2 more halving so from 900 to 450 from 450 to 225 per day DMD still more scarce.........

I think DMD is now very undervalued. If you look at the cost of UNO (61$) and make a recalculation based on the total number of coins, you will get a cost of $ 3.5 per DMD. I am sure that all users who have sold their DMD below $ 1 will regret it for a long time.

Hi! Anyone has the problem with staking? I am staking several currencies, but currently having problems with two of them: DMD and another one.
I have about 300 DMD in my wallet, but I have no staking transactions for more than 2 months. I used to have them once in 3 or 4 days earlier. I tried on Linux and Windows using 2 different computers. Firewall is okay. Other cryptos are okay. It might be just a bad luck. However, I would like to ask whether anybody has a similar problem?

check if the diamond bottom right turn blue 1-2 min after u unlocked the wallet if not restart wallet and wait at least 5 min before u unlock for staking

If the number of your last block in your wallet matches the number on the site https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dmd/ this means that at the current level of difficulty, it is quite difficult to find a block. Today, less than 500 DMD is mined daily and only 35% of this number of coins account for POS stake income. I can only tell you that with the current difficulty of 30K and the number of coins in 20,000 you can count on about 3-4 DMD per day.

Thank you for the answer. The diamond is blue and stating is active. My copy of the blockchain is up-to-date. So, probably there is no problem at all. Just the difficulty is high and some bad luck for me. I am a newbie on bitcointalk. Thank you for help and quick answers! I'm glad that DMD community is so cool. I hope the project will get more popularity soon

I am a newbie on bitcointalk. Thank you for help and quick answers! I'm glad that DMD community is so cool. I hope the project will get more popularity soon great to see a new face here bitcointalk became old school.......... back the days when dmd was born its was one and only must have communication platform to be on bitcointalk this days many new joiners dont know bitcointalk at all........ we honor our roots and will always stay present here too even if main chat this days is on telegram (open) and slack (invite only)

lets share some infos based on answers give on chat towards the question how different honeybadger/posdao will be regarding reward logic compared to POS/masternode we have now
instead of POS nodes who find blocks and masternodes who offer not much (quicktx which nearly noone uses) to network beside earn a share of blockrewards DMDv4 have a better concept where each part plays a vital role
people can set up validator candidated which have a similar minimum collateral as today masternodes (10000 DMD but can be bigger too) and out of this valid candidates each epoch (a network defined timeframe maybe 1 day deepends on test results) a subset is based on randomness but with win chance increase by amount of coins on a validator selected to become active validators for this epoch.
for the chance if a validator get selected not only the amount of coins the validator owner did place as collateral act as boost but als all the coins other people did delegate on top of his validator. this means we will have a dPOS system too where the people using it play a role to choose and stake on the nodes they trust and who are stable and logterm supporting the network. the incentiove for the dPOS users to select carefull is that they only earn if the validator they delegate their coins on top is part of active validator set too.
basically such a system is called a
"committee-based PoS are designed for permissionless scenarios powered by an election mechanism for maintaining a stable consensus group"
in our case the size for a active validator set will be close to 50
if u compare that with actual ~150 masternodes we have that means on average if all validator pools set up same clever and stable they will be part of active set around each 3rd epoch
way more in deep description will be available at whitepaper
another little update regarding coin economic setup of DMD v4
the coin rollout plan will stay as planed but the exact split between Masternode/POS/ecosystem support pot will be a little bit different
the propose was 63/30/7 in the dmd v4 voting but back the days still lot was unclear about possibilities of the engine.
now with much more knowledge the only realistic way is to do a 90/10 split between posdao rewards engine and ecosystem support pot (the funds that we all own together and rule via dao voting what activities we support)
this means 90% of epoch rewards are split up via posdao reward engine which is very high sofisticated and a codepiece we want to use 1:1 without changes. basically posdao split rewards in equal pieces between all validator pools of the active epoche but then the rewards each single validator pool recieve get split up again between validator owner collateral and ontop staked dpos coins. the logic here is all aimed towards have not to big not to small validators and to give dpos users a incentive to choose not the biggest validator and place their dpos on top on the same because the mopre coins are in a validator pool the less rewarding per coin it is. so on first look it looks like have small filled validators is better then? not really because small validators less likely become a slot in active validator set. so basically its a self regulating system where optimal profit is earned by that ones who make validators in proper size big enough to be often inside active set and small enough to earn well per coin
i guess if u read above u understand why we cant exactly say how much validator and how much dpos users will earn
because its high dynamic
all we can say is how big the network inflation will be. to be expected is that on average well maintaines and proper sized validator pools will earn around 1.5-2 times more then network inflation is because u can expect a part of coins not take part active to secure network or are on exchanges or paperwallets or just in hands of lazy people.
whats network inflation this days?
its around 5% and constant decreasing it will reach until 2028 a value of around 1%

this is our history from 9 months before DMDv3 launch towards release september 2019 and up to the crypto spike start of 2018 now we might be in a similar timeframe around 6-9 months away of DMDv4 release and a expected crypto spike in 2021 and to be honest the jump from DMDv3 towards DMDv4 is a much bigger one and add so much more that it even deserve to end way better

basically u can break down DMD v4 in 4 core elements
1st a ethereum combatible smart contract engine that can host basically any code written for ethereum on top of DMD blockchain (tokens, NFTs, smart contracts, and and and)
2nd a honeybadger consensus engine with variable blocktime (more and faster blocks if more traffic on chain) with blocktime between 1 sec and 10 min (where 10 min is only happening if there is 10 min no transaction on network as soon as a transaction appear a block production is started nearly instant) this engine will have at least 400 tx/sec and provide advanced feature not existing on ethereum like instant finality and a combined real random number generator (ideal for host games on top of DMD blockchain)
3rd a posdao validator election and dpos staking engine, this baby make sure we follow the core logic of decentral blockchains where validators are selects by following a rulesset that applies to all participants and where stakeholders impact what nodes get more likely more often selected in active state by place trust on them (stake on them)
4th a onchain governace module basically a DAO that allow DMD stakeholder to decide about what projects/activity the blockchain support with fund from the ecosystem support port thats filled with 10% of the new coins generated
