Does diamond have any kind of fixes against the stake cheating that seems to be in most Proof of Stake coins?

Apparently there are a number of the problems but the only one people have described publicly is the one where you set your clock ahead.

What are the fixes and which ones does Diamond have in place?

-MarkM-

the way dmd pos is set up a wrong clocktime cant get u any advantage
rewards always base on coin-age and min coin age to earn reward is 9 days

yes some low min coin age time coin with like 2 hours min coin age could have problems

we aware of lot vulnerabilities of low min coin-age coins

dmd diamond is designed with rocksolid time specs dont worry

What is different about Diamond's PoS system then that makes it not have the usual problems so many other PoS coins have?

Is it a matter of which original type of PoS a given family of coins was cloned from?

For example the setting your clock forward less than two hours but maybe close to two hours, that one is apparently quite widespread?

You do not come across as knowledgeable about these problems so it is not clear that you have enough knowledge of them to actually even have seriously examined your code to be sure they do not apply to it?

For example the recent coin Axiom apparently has the problems, they are claiming to be looking into fixing them.

It is not clear whether the recent coin NINJA has them or not.

So far I have not come across any coherent explanation of which ancestries of coins have them or if maybe all of them do.

The problems are ancestral, dating back I don't know how far, inherited by many coins as they keep cloning each other.

-MarkM-

Currently unknown if it would be an issue for diamond or not.
Diamond is still more PoW than PoS, due to the number of blocks created being mostly PoW blocks.
Diamond is a Hybrid using PoW & PoS to generate coins. (Edit For Popshot) Wink
Easy test , would be to set the time on the PC with the reactor on it 1 hour fast and then observe the PoS difficulty when it staked , does the difficulty drop by ½ , and does it give the reactor increased # of stakes.
Peercoin has denied it being an issue and they are hybrid like diamond, but they have also not presented any test data to back up that claim.
But Diamond PoS difficulty is already low compared to others at 0.0359 , but the PoW difficulty is over 50.

PoS coins affected so far has been Hyperstake, Mint, & Zeit and all 3 have already fixed the timedrift issue.
If diamond code is affected, they only need to change in the Main.h file
static const int64 nMaxClockDrift = 2 * 60 * 60;        // two hours
To a shorter amount of time.
Hyperstake & Zeit went down to 1 minute
Mint went down to 30 seconds

Here is the original article by Presstab detailing the issue.
http://bitcoinist.net/interview-presstab-pos-vulnerabilities/

 Cool

FYI:
So far no one has shown a Hybrid PoW /PoS coin being affected, only full PoS coins have shown the issue so far.

It's even I would say, a pretty healthy balance. See last 1000 blocks.
PoS in general is designed to be a dominant protocol due to its cost efficiency.

No, they just want to dump it, but I don't understand why...

This is the wallet that just sold 1264 DMD on Cryptsy:
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dmd/address.dws?126325.htm

He/she had 10000 DMD before.

In my eyes 50% POS is quite a lot until april next year when it will be reduced... so why not staking the coins? At the same price /DMD next year you still gain  ~40% more value in DMD.

How can you find changes in wallet sizes? I see they had 10,000 coins some time ago.
But you make a good point, there is 50% till April.

sad think there is no buy support so large dump will take the price low very quickly

I imagine smart buyers will step up if it drops much lower. But time will tell, I have enough coins for right now

Well I look at the dumping positively, good buys for me Smiley I still hold ALL DMD and staking Smiley  Just wish I could mine more BTC daily for opportunistic buys ...  Still mining with one 280x for DMD (26MHs), the diff is down a bit with sell price down:)
Mining for BTC with 7950 on nicehash (neoscrypt) ...

China may have been a bad move, dumping started around same time China website went active ... ASIC?

I saw he transferred 1264 DMD to Cryptsy wallet yesterday. If you follow the recent transaction you will see ~2500 DMD were missing. I think 1264 went to Cryptsy and the rest went to a "change" wallet. I mean it's still his wallet but with a different address. So I think now he has ~9000 DMD left.

With the introduction of the GPU assembly code on Pallas thread (which I helped develop and test) It may be much simpler to develop an ASIC mining chip since the assembly code requires little to NO ram an ASIC chip is now possible.

Looks like I have to update my sig ... donkeypool dead unless somebody wants to donate to pool op (davembg) to bring it back online...

Hard to say why holders dumping, ethereum maybe? Seems to have sucked market cap out of a lot of top 50 coins.
