I see all kinds of results in Google and on here advising to reindex to solve the "failed to read block" error. I don't see anything that shows how to reindex. Any tips?

You mean -rescan option? If your client failed to read blocks, write -rescan in console.

The easiest method is to start bitcoin-qt with the -rescan flag, by running "bitcoin-qt -rescan" in a console or command prompt.

The easiest method is to start bitcoin-qt with the -rescan flag, by running "bitcoin-qt -rescan" in a console or command prompt.

-rescan is for finding missing transactions

-reindex is to rebuild the blockchain (some of the data might be corrupt, so you dont have to download everything new, just the corrupted files)

I see all kinds of results in Google and on here advising to reindex to solve the "failed to read block" error. I don't see anything that shows how to reindex. Any tips?

Just launch it with

bitcoin-qt -reindex from cmd (windows) or terminal (linux)

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

Also would recommend checking out your hard drive to confirm a failure isn't about to happen. I had a machine that kept losing the chain and having to reindex. About a month later lost my hard drive.
