With Summer(heat) coming around the corner, and the ever climbing difficulty, what are some good clocks you guys are running? I'm thinking of underclocking them pretty soon, and was hoping to get around ~1.4w to the Gigahash. Is that wishful thinking?

  • What clocks are you running?
  • What's the hashrate?
  • How many watts is it pulling?

EDIT: Adding below message

I did some testing a few weeks back, and learned that underclocked or overclocked (using the clocks in the asic-freq file) still gave the unit a rough 2w/1GHs ratio. I'll post my results:

  • 400M 404w 200GH/s 47'C 2.02 Watts per GH
  • 350M 368w 180GH/s 45'C 2.04 Watts per GH
  • 325M 344w 165GH/s 44'C 2.08 Watts per GH
  • 300M 319w 155GH/s 43'C 2.05 Watts per GH
  • 250M 269w 130GH/s 42'C 2.06 Watts per GH

Tested in a 68'F room with a slight breeze on the units using 80 Gold 550watt Seasonic PSUs.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I would definitely like to bump this, but I would also like to preface that I am in the midst of experimenting as well.  I don't have a multimeter though, I should probably pick one up!!!

Right now I have 3 Ant S1's in the closet doing 300 mhz getting 155gh/s each off an 850w gold psu.

I'm scared to go any higher because I think I'm already at the breaking point.  Would love to hear other peoples underclocking stories.

a 750w is fine to handle two not overclocked.  Don't change any asic-freq settings on a 750w psu setup.  So long as its a gold rated psu and has decent reviews, a 750w will handle two no problem.  However, do NOT overclock these.  You might be able to squeak a 375mhz OC on one of the two, but I wouldn't bother, but I am one to not leave my PSU's a lot of headroom. Hmm,  Have you tried to put multiple on one PSU to see the draw?  I have 3x on 300M getting 155 on a 850w and my psu is nice and cool still.  Don't have a multimeter to test how much I'm killing my PSU, though.  But hey, it works!

Is their a way to under-volt units with writing a new firmware for it or a custom firmware where clock speeds are when in kitty to under volt ?

Haven't, but it shouldn't matter all that much. And yeah, you are killing your PSU. It's being pushed way harder than it should be.

Have you seen the Undervolt antminer s1 1.19W/GH at the wall thread?

Hope that helps.
