It's our favorite spammer who runs that scam site that purports to sell bitcoin on the cheap for PayPal. I know because he used the same space topic in /r/bitcoin to attempt to get by the spam filter.

Yeah, good catch. I was thinking probably the best way for spammers to use/abuse these copy and paste bots would be to copy entire off topic threads and replies from some other forum. It would be difficult to spot if it did happen.

I don't understand how people think this (plagiarism) is going to help them, unless they're trying to boost their post count to be able to run a scam. It's just annoying and makes people distrust you.

Well they hope no body notices for a start, but I assume it's just to be able to build up some post counts with accounts to use for whatever reason later (scams, sig deals, to sell etc).
