We need to build Bitcoin’s image to the public and make viral marketing possible. Obviously, it should be friendly and funny rather than dangerous and weird.

I’ve found this on Google:

Alpaca socks is the only "meme" I've seen around here. Unless you consider anarchy a "meme".

Use my referral codes for Bitcoin faucets and I'll send you 30% of my referral bonus - Win/Win! PM for details on all sites available or use one of the links here.

Of course anarchy is a meme, but it's not as strongely associated to bitcoin as Alpaca socks are.

Why pick one?

The unknown identity of satoshi and theories about who or what he is - is a meme ?

Possibly also bitcoins's law that all threads about bitcoin will inevitably lead to someone giving their opinion of what exactly bitcoin is.

Dont know if those qualify.

Neh, memes need to be a bit funny/silly/cheesy... the things you mention are not.

Do you even know what a meme is?

"A meme is a unit of social information"

Does this look like social information to anyone?

The Richard Dawkins definition is lovely and all, but...
We need to build Bitcoin’s image to the public and make viral marketing possible. Obviously, it should be friendly and funny rather than dangerous and weird.
...the goal is building bitcoin's image. Something that's a bit funny/silly/cheesy is more likely to achieve that goal.

Just start making images.

Memes are not created by marketers. Memes are accidentally spawned by people who manipulate and trade images.

I agree that this has acquired meme status - especially people pretending to know Satoshi and offering outlandish explanations for his absence.  There's some pretty funny stuff along these lines out there.   Tongue

If a spammer makes a thread on the forums whatever they are selling could be renamed to satoshi. "I have many satoshi to make your satoshi hard"

That sort of thing   Cheesy

Never expect to see a Legendary account could grave dig a thread like this from 2011.
I don't know what it liked back there in 2011, but now there are tons of memes about bitcoin, so this thread should rest in piece.
