To know everything in there is according to the rules of the node. Otherwise how would the node know if there are invalid transactions/blocks in the db?
Assuming the database is correctly build. And if a malware "uncorrected" it while the node wasn't running? A node needs to verify the entire blockchain at startup to be sure everything is legitimate. |

What if a malware uncorrect the existing blocks in the database as well? Btw. this can happen even when the node is running. Btw2: the malware could also easily alter the Nxt software itself. A node needs to verify the entire blockchain at startup to be sure everything is legitimate.
I understand that scanning the blockchain helps to verify the correctness of the database but it cannot guarantee it. |

You actually did 1). That is good for Nxt because it stabilize the network. +1
You can do 2). That is no problem. There are plenty of 1-click-clients out there. (I like the Wesley client, but well, do not hesitate to checkout others!)
This is not true. There is no such lightweight client that connects to public node and does local signing. NxtSolaris was the only one, but it has not been updated for NQT. OffSpring and Wesley's native desktop client run the node locally. http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet/I do wish he fixes the right click issue quicker. It can be serious problem if someone doesn't know Ctrl + V works as paste (to paste password for example) Thanks for the replies. Seems like my learning curve just got a whole steeper.  For the time being I think I'll just keep doing what I'm doing – i.e., as I now understand it, running a node. |

There is still a bit misleading info in OP. It gives the impression that you need to hasle with the old style browser thingy, allthou you only need to double-click the exe.  Maybe it'll be better to clearly separate two things: 1. Double-click installer and 2. Browser-NRS-hasle if someone wants to do that. (Why would anybody want old style ? Not working with every Win-version ?) |

i have two questions about the Next Asset Exchange!
1. Can i access my next client (with asset exchange) online (whitout wallet)?
2. If i want to sell an other altcoin on the asset exchange! To which adress i must sent this other coin,
to trade them on the asset exchange? To my next account number??

Not possible yet. When gateways (like the multigateway) are ready, you can do this. |
