when approximately will the multi-gateway be ready?

When it has been tested thoroughly  Grin Sorry, but that is the honest answer. You can trade Nxt directly for Bitcoin, Litecoin or Doge now, if you are technical enough as the software is at alpha stage.

It is known as NXTservices and it had to wait till the release of the Asset Exchange that the multigateway uses before being released for testing. It also has peer to peer encrypted chat to facilitate trading and as a nice add on  Cheesy

See here for more info >>>> https://nxtforum.org/nxtservices-releases/nxtservices-v03-includes-multigateway-deposit-support-for-btc-ltc-doge/

Edit: This refers to jl777's gateway, I don't know about the other gateways being developed.

Yes, no matter how many transactions you do.

One passphrase = one account number/ID.

There is still a bit misleading info in OP. It gives the impression that you need to hasle with the old style browser thingy, allthou you only need to double-click the exe.  Roll Eyes
Maybe it'll be better to clearly separate two things: 1. Double-click installer and 2. Browser-NRS-hasle if someone wants to do that. (Why would anybody want old style ? Not working with every Win-version ?)

Why not using the browser version? The Web is the future. Native UIs will die out! Cheesy

Has anyone a trusted Wesleyh webclient running, that is publically usable?
Sometimes I need to check the asset exchange on the go, or send microtransactions from a small account.

I installed the windows wallet with the installer. It is possible to just install a service and then access the UI with the browser? This way, it can be foraging out of the way, and when I want to use the wallet I can just browser to the localhost address?

I assume the wallet has to be open and unlocked to forage?

Not that I know. Have you not tried it?

If you want to use the browser version (which I find good Cheesy ), then you should consider using the NRS v1.1.3 https://bitbucket.org/JeanLucPicard/nxt/downloads

EDIT 1: it is called forge not forage

EDIT 2: the NRS can run in the background. You can close your browser tab once you submitted your private key to the NRS

Ah, now I see. You want a Windows service installed. Puhh. Not sure if that is done fast.

You can definitely use the NRS as a service but I have no idea how to register a Windows service + submitting the necessary private keys (if many).

Maybe these links help:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-us/d8f300e3-6c09-424f-829e-c5fda34c1bc7/how-to-install-windows-service-using-command-prompt?forum=csharpgeneral
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/sd8zc8ha(v=vs.110).aspx

EDIT: You would need to write a small '.exe' that starts the NRS and after that calling

"curl --request POST 'http://localhost:7876/nxt' --data-urlencode 'requestType=startForging' --data-urlencode 'secretPhrase=PASSWORD'" <<< of course with .NET means.

Not sure why or if it is worth it but I just want to win Cool

Guys:

By coincidence, we spoke to these guys at the Amsterdam Bitcoin2014 conference over the weekend, and they are pretty damn serious about their biz. Got a very professional and trustworthy feeling from them, and they also have fiat trading (Euro and dollar) possibilities. I've signed up with them, (and actually used them a little bit last night, very sweet interface)  and if we could get NXT listed with them, that would be pretty important.

So keep on voting, send a couple of polite mails asking for NXT to be listed and make it clear if you sign up for an account, that you are signing up with them as a proud member of the NXT community.

I'm gonna chat to the guys from NXT conference team soon, might have more ideas/info but this is a good thing......keep it up.

Bear in mind that they are going to need some help to integrate NXT with their systems.

Standard procedure is basically to ask them and get them in touch with one of our devs.
I think forkedchain did it last time, but may be wrong.

Right, sort of like the Plex Media Server. It has a web based UI and the service runs on a localhost port to provide the UI.

I'll look at the NRS. I think you can make pretty much any .exe a service with svrany, as long as it doesn't provide a UI. I would look into modifying the code to do this, run as a service, or at least in the background with a tray icon, but I think everything is written in Java which I am not that familiar with. I'm a .net guy.

.NET should be able to start a subprocess, right? So, the java process could live there.

The unlocking is a more delicate part. Do you wish to type in your passphrase everytime your pc boots?
