BW officially out and looking for a new dev again.

WHY THE FUCK HAS HE BEEN SO SILENT ABOUT THIS?  THANKS FOR THE COMMUNICATION AND TRANSPARENCY.  GREAT WORK.

why the fuck do you keep coming back. You have sold.

Maybe posts like this are the reason he doesnt post here anymore.

I keep coming back hoping he proves me wrong.  I sold the majority of my stash and couldn't be happier.  I still have a few thousand nauts just in case I actually am wrong.   So far, it's looking like i'm completely right.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

BW officially out and looking for a new dev again.

I thought everything is prepared for POS and we are just waiting for the book... and now this... BK give out and dont give up! And rise a kNAUT!

BTC compared to PASC looks like big clumsy dinosaur - still not aware of meteor coming.

Who cares about a stupid book from somebody that can't control his own coin and doesn't have a clue how Crypto works. This coin never had a developer that was dedicated to this coin, only hired devs when one is needed, working for months and still deliver nothing.

Dynamic PoS is proberly not going to happen and IF it does.....it's just PoS, like every other coin allready has. Dynamic PoS connected to some kind of indicator on Wall Street? Who cares, it's not paying enough (2-3%) and it's just inflation.

So the first thing you should do is SAVE YOUR NETWORK, then come with usefull applications....throw away that book, if we want to read something we use the Internet

When will you realize that by writing this book BK will probably have done more for BTC than 95% of the random clowns here on this board including myself?

Right, throw it away. Who cares. Who needs books, we have the internet.  Roll Eyes

The Dynamic PoS had nothing to do with a wall street indicator. It had to do with the velocity and population, coin age etc and other features of the network.

I have to say, as a developer, I've never worked on any coin code myself... but I expect I could have gone from Zero knowledge of the BTC/Naut code to getting the PoS released in beta in test net (from the first announcement of it) well before this.

I could rape the nautiluscoin network personally.  I have over 500 MH of asic scrypt miners that would bring this coin to it's knees.

You do this and I start depositing BTC into an address of you choice. I have to see the price go down though as confirmation. Also I hear firing up and transacting from old wallets helps.

It would appear, Brian Kelly does not find this forum a good venue to share updates and information. I don't mind as this forum is crazy, as witnessed by the posts above me that are contemplating sabotage or forking of the network. From IRC chats I have been in it appears Brian Kelly is having a developer running tests of POS, of what I assume was given to BK via Blocktech and or Wiener.  That information apparently is not really being advertised nor does it really mean anything, as the POS is at best in test mode. Of course this is me speculating a lot and bits and pieces.

I do think 2 things need to be pointed out. First of all it would appear that it is increasingly difficult to have any communication and updated from Brian Kelly. It appears a tweet or two was suffiecient for this recent POS failure and the need for a new developer to finish the transition.

The second point is to consider, why is Brian kelly so quiet throughout this process, it would appear to most that he was not overly worried or concerned. He has not really addressed the situation in a public forum besides twitter. He also has not commented on his website that talks about creating liquidity for alt coins.

So my takeaway is that if BK is not too worried then I shouldnt be that worried. It would be nice to find a place thought that we can get updates or information from BK, perhaps another moderated forum??

Obviously don't invest in this coin unless you are going to be comfortable losing it.

My feeling is that in the big picture Cryptocurrency is just getting started. And if you don't have the time and patience to wait then perhaps online poker and fan duel is the place for you

Flying Mongoose - Do you have anything to input as to what is going on?

I must point out something I must quote from a man (who many people believe was evil), but he did become the most successful man in the world during his time: Rockefeller (Or so I've heard that he said this.)
"When people are upset, I buy, when people are happy, I sell."

Personally I'm still accumulating.

There's nothing wrong with third party developers working on the coin, hell if I had more C++ experience (especially with Coins), I'd do it myself. Unfortunately I do not have that experience (yet), but I am actually working on that Smiley .

Here's why I feel using third party developers is fine: It happens across the IT field, almost nothing you see distributed in tech nowadays has any exclusivity to developers. I know this because I work in contracted field(s). Not only that I have worked directly FOR some of these contracting companies (not as a contractor, but for the company itself). I can tell you that probably a good all of 1% of the applications you have on your computer(s) including operating system have never had a contractor's hands in it.

Now, Bryce left apparently due to what looks like (according to his twitter) some "ethical" differences. To be entirely honest, unfortunately, "ethics" has become a "catchall" if you ask me. From what I saw (in the series of screenshots) it was more attitude than anything.

I've had conversations with Bryce, but one of his tweets "I don't belong in a corporation" very well could be the case. But I still wish him the best, as I would anyone. And I also, of course, wish blocktech the best in their endeavors.

I know I've been silent (even in my own development) lately, but I've also been super busy.

You have to remember, BK is still a public hedge fund manager, which means managing all kinds of financial stuff and we're in Quarter 4... this is where a lot of the crazy hurry up and get shit done stuff happens (and it's happening to me too in my contract work), lots of unrealistic deadlines for not only developers, but for financial institutions, and all kinds of businesses (I myself have had a lot of shit for me to get done even in contracted work).

I was unaware of the issues prior to it, but ultimately the fact BK is looking for another developer just outright tells me he's still supporting his own coin, which means there's still reason to hold onto the coin.

BW officially out and looking for a new dev again.

I thought everything is prepared for POS and we are just waiting for the book... and now this... BK give out and dont give up! And rise a kNAUT!

Pilot, you and I have had a few conversations. I would posit, and ask, if you'd be willing to potentially collaborate on grabbing the current code, and seeing if you and I can do just that (as I stated, I'm not very good at C++ or Qt, let alone coin stuff), but I'm more than willing to learn. I personally still feel this coin can succeed, but it will take some regular dedication from people (and those who've been dedicated in it's community).

The Nauti community should just come up with a list of the five elite coin developers who could get the dynamic POS of stake done yesterday and present it to BK who would make the final decision.

I also think part of the condition of being hired is that the developer agrees to update this thread once a week on developments - say every Sunday. The updates DO NOT need to have timelines as these always seem to be blown.

This is a LOGICAL and FAIR way of going about things.

I formally present this idea to our community manager - FlyingMoose

It's a possibility. Unfortunately, weekly reports can sometimes be unrealistic too (I've gotten stuck in development before that has pretty much given me roadblocks for a week).

I actually once had one stump me for about a week and a half and had a dream (yes an actual dream) that resolved my issue (I had to run and get a pen & paper before I forgot). The more strange thing about it was... I don't dream. (This was years ago but even then I didn't really dream).

Anyway, if you guys can come up with a list, by all means just post it here. BK has stated that he's had some suggestions already though.

Like I said, if I were more experienced in C++/Qt and Coins I'd pick up the reigns myself. My experience is primarily in web development (PHP, Python, Ruby on Rails), I've also developed applications in Visual Basic and C# (MS Forms only). But I have picked up the Qt libraries and have been starting to develop some applications for myself... it may not be far-fetched for me to do it eventually, but today is not that day.

The weekly reports can be vague, open ended and short. Nothing has to be committed, too. People just want to see work actively being done on this coin. And want some semblance of where we are in the process. I really don't think asking for one paragraph a week is a lot. One post a week - no responses or rebuttals necessary.

As for the list, please present people. We need to have all developers vetted, so the sh*t storm that has blown through already does not revisit us. If I had a clue, I would suggest someone but I don't. I'm not a programmer, I'm a speculator.

I know BK has already contacted at least jyap. Jyap would be a great choice.
