The whole Point of Denarius is to bring back the Past into the Future, it has been over 2000 Years since the First Original Denarius Coin was created, Hence our Motto "The Coin From The Past For The Future"
Denarius is aimed at being a "Long Term" coin with around 7+ years of Mining with PoW, Miners clash amongst one another to Mint as many coins as they can just like how the Romans fought all their Battles.
It is also designed for being used as a Payment System in the MMO Communities for In-Game Gold, Items, Skins, etc as they are massive & a lot of people will want an alternative to Credit Cards, Bank Deposits, Paypal and the like, even Bitcoin, so why not have something that appeals to them with the types of games they play since the majority of MMORPG's are based in the Past where you can play as an Adventurer, Medieval Soldier, Fantasy Realm Being, etc.
Denarius Means 10, X means 10, so rewards were Destined to be 10 & only 10.
Yes the Low Reward + Total coins is Unique from heaps of Other coins, but that's what gives Denarius it's Niche as it will never Drop from that & will be around for years to come.
PoS Isn't ruled out completely but Honestly it's only early days & doing so Now or even at the Stated (1 Million Coins) will harm what the coin is all about & it's use.
It isn't designed to Be Just Dumped on Exchanges & only used on them and that's it, it's for Everyone including People not into the Mining scene that would like to Purchase them when they are reasonably cheap or whatnot & then either hold them till prices rise to Trade for more In-Game Services or Products or just trade at the Given Rate, Remember the people who accept the Coins as payments will want to cash out to make their Dollars so it's a win-win situation.
Miners & Gamers can all get in on the action anyway as everyone Basically has a Graphics card these days & even if they don't they can still do what was explained above & Buy them.
All in all Denarius has a Unique Flavour to what it is all about which differentiates it from the rest of the coins in the Crypto Scene.
