Retarget wasnt supposed to happen at block 240?

That is the estimated time once things are stable, 240 Blocks = 4 Hours Roughly

Right now 4 Hours ago is when I hit the first 3 blocks.

There's nothing wrong with Scrypt, the majority of people prefer it considering the weak yields of profit in X11 & efficient mining coins, Power= Money & that could go either way.

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to all this mining stuff... Just wondering if I'm doing it right? I don't get why it shows me "My Hashrate 0.00 MH/s" when I have turned on that cgminer and set it up... Can this be just because I have a simple gamer PC without any very powerful hardware in it? (2GB GTX 660 video card).

Cgminer is not working with Nvidia cards, i can't see the image that you posted but i assume this is the problem

you can make a request to poloniex too, it's a good starting exchange

When I used Nvidia Cards with CGminer it was very hit and miss with the hashrate but 0.0mh/s is not normal

Try this with CGminer after signing up to a pool:

In relation to price I wouldn't have a clue to what the Exchanges would offer but as Coin count goes we are at 30220 Coins that have been created so far out of 46 Million, at that coin rate it would take 4+ Years to mine all the Coins at this current Difficulty  ;D

Now mining through my wallet using a FX-9370 cpu at 13,180 KH/sec x 8, would I be better off using dedicated cpu mining software?

This being a scrypt coin the best woukd be to mine with gpu but if you still want to mine with cpu a standalone cpu miner would give better results for sure

BTW the Net Hashrate is a bit wongy right now it seems, Hardcore miners has 17+ Mh/s and the Network is stating 12Mh/s, it was even 4mh/s before  :-\

it's windows.  I reinstalled the wallet too and now shows my coins "unconfirmed".  Still not connections

I mined this coin at the beginning.  I stopped when the difficulty rose.  I updated the wallet after the fork.  No connections. Mined coins show as unconfirmed after re-install of wallet.

I want to mine it again.  Since last time I checked the difficulty was 0.07 and now it's sitting at 0.3.  Bit difference.  But I still can't mine because wallet has no connections.

I need my wallet to work so that I could mine again when difficulty goes back down.

I'm mining at 7 MH/s now with estimated earning of around 17-18k per day at current difficulty.  With the same hash power I can generate around 25k Doge.  How is it more profitable for me to mine this coin rather than Doge?

I've been mining Denarius here today http://denarius.fedaykin.us/ because I really like this name and like the idea that the block contains 10 coin, not thousands, millions or billions to "make you reach faster than you'll realise it"... The diff changes are strange, the pool statistics showed me from about 40 to about 10 thousand Denarius a day changing in minutes, the diff was flowing up and down 10x a hour, with not very much change of pool and net hashrate. Finally none of my coins mined today (first autopayment from the pool was 10 hours ago) have arrived to my deposit address on allcoin.com for several hours...

Maybe its a perfect coin and too little miners are mining it... sure it's a good name and idea.

I have noticed this as well, It is being investigated, with the Allcoin Exchange Problem I couldn't tell you, Maybe they are on the Wrong Fork or holding them.

The problem is too little hash rate to move the block chain. KGW works great when you have lots of miners hammering at a coin, but when the hash rate drops to nearly nothing, it can cause problems moving the block chain. If the block chain is not moving, then the coins are not being confirmed at either the pools or exchanges.

Yesterday, for example, it took just over 21 hours to solve block 30955 with a difficulty of 4.6171. By the time the block was solved difficulty had dropped to 0.0008. Six more blocks were quickly solved and now the block chain is setting on block 30973 waiting for it to be solved with a network hash rate around 300K or so. If you do not get more hash power on the coin, it will die completely.

I thought about mining this coin (and I still may) but there needs to be something to get people excited about mining it. Sure, the logo is cool and the website looks great, but what are the long-term goals for Denarius? If you are just creating a coin for the sake of creating a coin, then it will never generate the following it needs to make it succeed.

Develop uses and applications for Denarius and spread the word about the exciting things to come and people will stop to take a longer look and mine it. Follow through with those plans and it will become a success.

Just my two-cents worth... I really believe Denarius has promise, if a few features can be added to it to create interest, value and a community.

I put my experimental rig on Edric's pool to help the block chain along. Not much hash, but every little bit helps.  ;)

Might want to look into using DigiShield instead of KGW...

Blocks are still being found so the Coin is working, the KGW Difficulty Re-targeting might seem weird because of the Low Nethashrate power from what I have been told, although I have asked a Few Other People/Dev's if they could lend a helping hand (BTC Payment) to implement DGW or Digibyte.

No not stuck, Low Net Hashpower that's why, we just found blocks and are on 32885 now.

Something is weird with the retargeting, though... We were at like 5000~% shares for a block just a minute ago, when all other blocks were mining in less than a minute, and instead of a gentle diff adjustment, it was at 2.-something, we finally killed that block and right back down to zilch difficulty. Was beginning to think the chain was stuck and went so far as to fire up a couple of extra nodes to help but nope, the diff retarget is screwy. It shouldn't be making weird jumps like that when hashrate has been fairly steady.

I'll look into it and see if there's anything strange. Oh, and sorry for not checking in the thread more often, been busy with stuff, if anyone needs anything just PM or contact form me!

Anyway it doesn't show that it was like 5000% over shares for some odd reason on the block history, but on the dashboard as we were chewing away at it, it did.. I jumped in with my rig to help blast it out of there.

There has been a solo miner (or pool) jumping on and of with 30MH/s or so and grabbing a few blocks and then backing off until the diff goes down. Occasionally they hit a couple of extra blocks and send the diff way up and stall the chain.

I've been analyzing the block chain (off and on) and network hash rate for a few days now. I've noticed big spikes in the network hash rate  at times with no noticeable difference in the pools combined hash. Someone either has an undocumented pool or they are just soloing and jumping in and out like a multipool to grab some easy blocks.

On the top of that I myself have noticed only the pools find the blocks even though the Net hashrate is so much higher than all the Pools combined, Sometimes combined Pool hashrate is also double what the Net hash Reports at times, It doesn't really make sense :/

Not a good thing to happen. It'd be ok if the hash was spread out but if they're jumping in and soloing on their own wallet or pool, could eventually leave us forked. Thanks for keeping an eye out, I have been up to so much it's hard to really keep watch!

Just as I made that last post I actually looked... We're over 6000% on a .03 diff block, that shouldn't happen! Network hashrate is lower than pool hashrate! Not good!

If this block keeps up like this I'll point my 2mh at it and see if I can blast it out.

Need to get a local wallet to mine to for when this happens, also to watch block numbers across different clients.

Edit: something is definitely odd here..  The wallet is reporting diff of .03~, I wonder if MPOS will be reporting a different number after this block gets blasted off.. I've got some of my hashes on it.

Edit again: MPOS is reporting last block found is 34672, reporting current block we're working on is 34672... TeslaX3 started doing the same exact thing before. I think it may be a problem with MPOS, because with Denarius we find blocks so fast, like sometimes 2 seconds apart.

I'll report back when I know more.

It keeps happening, even on a .004 diff block. Something is not cool. Then, by the time that nasty block is knocked out and the crons run and pick it up, we've solved 2 regular blocks in between the minute cron runs. So yeah.


I'll be investigating a little more thoroughly later on today. Have a few errands to run.

I just moved one of my workers over to the hardcore pool to see if spreading the hash rate around may help stabilize things. I did this a couple of nights ago and it seemed to make the diff behave better. I wasn't awake when my rent-a-miner came online this morning or I would have switched over sooner, as there was virtually no hash power over there.

I think the main issue is that we need more hash power steadily across the entire network and that would make things even out. Right now if someone comes online with a big asic unit and drives the diff up and then drops out, it throws the whole network out of whack until the high diff block is solved.

I setup a "abe Block Explorer", Still in testing but seems to work well better than the other one anyway  :P

I mined this coin from first day a pool was available.  But 2 weeks ago, I stopped.  I realized that there was something not right with difficulty/coin per 24h.   I'm not technical but at the time, the reply I got that I should just keep on mining because difficulty is still low.

Please have a look at that issue as I would like to mine this coin again.

I believe that KGW is actually working right, but with a low network hash rate when a large amount of hash power is added quickly, you see a huge spike in the diff level. The reverse is also true, in that the higher hash rate keeps the difficulty higher and when a large amount of hash power drops out, the network is left with relatively low hash power to solve the difficult block. This can cause huge delays (stalls) in the block chain where nothing can be confirmed because no blocks are being solved.

For example: say the network hash rate is 5Mh/s and someone joins the network with a 30 Mh/s unit. When the next block is found KGW sees a 700% increase in the network hash rate and causes the difficulty level to spike. If that same person drops off with his 30Mh/s unit, KGW does not see the drop in the network hash rate until that higher difficulty block is solved.

Whereas, say you have a network hash rate of 300 Mh/s and a 30 Mh/s user pops in and out, there is not that much of a noticeable difference, ~10%, so the chain keeps on moving along with only a slight delay (a few seconds or so max) in finding the next block.

The best solution to getting a stable block chain (no matter what re-targeting method is being used) is to have a high network hash rate. Having a low hash rate not only creates wild swings in the difficulty, but also makes the entire network more vulnerable. I have added a small amount of hash power to network the past few days and it has become much more stable, but there are still occasional delays of 30 minutes or so at times.

I'm glad you are all seeing what I am seeing, it might have something to do with how the Wallet gets the Estimated Network Hashrate and is Deciding difficulty upon that when it isn't correct e.g Pool hashrate 10mh/s, Net hashrate is way under or over Combined pools Hashrate at times, with only the pools solving the blocks anyway.

If anyone want's to have a crack at fixing it/Implementing a Different Difficulty Adjustment, I'm all for it as a 0.1 BTC Bounty will be offered if you succeed.

Switchover worked a Treat, Denarius is back to Normal and Stable now, No more Crazy weird KGW Difficulty Adjustments and showing True Nethashrate now.

I know, usually that isn't a problem but I had a couple of hiccups so it became necessary. Usually upgrades are painless and only take a few seconds, seems like everything is the hard way lately.

Hey I have a question about Denarius' network TXfees.. I have them manually set in my pool and don't even know if it's right or not, and for Denarius Chance I either need to get the TXfee set properly or just set up a "better safe than sorry" txfee amount (which will be probably .5 DRS), unless anyone knows 100% the exact fees.. I just haven't made enough transactions to know, so if anyone else can tell me, please PM me! I don't want to have manual TXfee settings and be overcharging people but without it set up properly it could potentially be bad, especially for Denarius Chance.

Also, game has been updated to latest source, please let me know if there's any trouble. Don't lock yourselves out of your game accounts, people, if you manage to do it, I can get you back in provided you can prove it's your account!

I sent a Transaction to Test and it's working (Confirmed) you probably sent just as the Multipool Switched to another coin.

Please check carefully because other cryptocoin wallets are synchronizing very well on my system, the block remaining numbers does not change in my DRS wallet but it came up with synchronizing with the network.

Here's a Guide for DOGE with the same problem you are having, Just follow the Instructions as it's the same for Denarius.

i am confuse now, to make it more funny i have done two more transactions after the wallet synchronized but the problem is the same.

Now i am having confirmations but initially it was 0 of 5 confirmation but now it is 28 confirms and nothing have reflected in my bittrex account.
Sorry for all this troubles.

If you are using Windows...

1. Close your wallet
2. Go to your C:user/"user name"/appdata/roaming/Denarius folder
3. Delete everything in that folder except the wallet.dat file
4. Repeat do not delete the wallet.dat file
5. Restart the wallet and it will download the block chain again

Once the wallet syncs back up, it should clear the stuck transactions and get you on the right chain

The Coin From The Past For The Future !

The Hi/Lo game at http://denariuschance.fedaykin.us has been updated, withdrawal problems are fixed. There is a problem with the node.js module that independently validates cryptocoin addresses, works fine with most but wouldn't recognize Denarius addresses. This was patched to use the coin daemon to validate addresses.

The pool at http://denarius.fedaykin.us has had some slight tweaks to the vardiff settings, as well as adjustments to the number of blocks used to average the expected amount of shares in an effort to smooth out some of those crazy rounds. Not too sure how much good it's going to do, even with a steady hashrate, difficulty is all over the place.

I've had a few people email me about their mining rewards from Denarius. With diff jumping all over the place, it's near impossible to trust the estimation provided by the pool's information page. But, the good news is, since I fine tuned vardiff a little better, your displayed hashrate in the pool should be spot on, mine's almost to the exact number. Please keep an eye on your miners from time to time, if you're having problems or getting an unreasonable amount of stales, please notify me. It's likely that we'll be switching stratum to node-stratum-pool, when/if that happens, we'll have several different ports to connect to with custom diffs for each, as well as a global vardiff port. The old python stratum-mining just doesn't cut it anymore, and node is easier to set up anyway.

I may not be very active in the community these days, its because I'm always busy behind the scenes! Just so we can get a few less stales I probably spent a good 12 hours googling around and reading up on stratum, lol.

As far as daily rewards go, difficulty is fluctuating like mad, and it seems the network hashrate is jumping around between 1.5-2gh.  With the likely scenario being a multipool rape-type situation, we may need some further tweaks to KGW. A few blocks worth of diff jumps, 15, 22, 38, 7, 5 ,5, and so forth. All within a few minutes window. Problem is, there's a fine line there that could ruin our fun, make diff too lax and multipools will stay on it, eventually killing the lovely price.. Too aggressive, and even though the multipools will jump in and out of the fray every little bit, it ruins mining for everyone else. My 2MH isn't making CRAP! lol

Its nice that this coin has blown up like this, I'm right proud! If any of you guys feel like donating any spare DRS, please do! My efforts behind the scenes are exhausting and for the most part, unfruitful. That, and last Thursday, my city got hit by the craziest hailstorm I've ever seen in my 34 years. Lots of houses torn up, anything made of glass is broken. Car dealerships are going out of business from the obscene amount of damage, meanwhile glass companies and roofers are getting zero sleep and fat paid. I've come across so much stuff in my nightly github raids (I just SCOUR people's githubs for anything of any interest), I found a seemingly abandoned mobile game app that may have some potential to be used in some fashion with DRS. I've been having some really crazy ideas lately, as if I have the time to pull anything off. What I need is a month's supply of cheezburgers, Dr. Pepper, and Ritalin, a comfy chair, and undisturbed computer time, lol. That's true. But a lot of people look at the max coins: 46000000 (46Million). That's very high, so potential high inflation.

It could very well be that the high inflation is keeping price down. Although it takes years to reach 46m coins it still imo affects price heavily.
How about doing a fork that limits coins to 1m and going POS with 5% yearly interest, or something similar.

Sounds interesting, though I don't think that's in the plans. There's been a lot of effort to get some businesses to accept DRS as a payment method. When that happens I have a feeling its going to be in high demand again.

The whole Point of Denarius is to bring back the Past into the Future, it has been over 2000 Years since the First Original Denarius Coin was created, Hence our Motto "The Coin From The Past For The Future"

I bought some Denarius when price was pretty close to its top, I have to admit I did it while hoping for quick gain. Instead I ended up losing about 99% of value. Now I'd like to know what I can do to help the coin besides voting ?

The coin is not dead, but is definitely in need of more community support and action.  You should come by the Freenode IRC channel.  I've been working on some plans to resurrect DRS with the dev and others.  Could always use more hands on deck.

I am a cryptocurrency evangelist and regular faucet cruiser. I'm beta-testing upwards of 40 different wallets on Mac and a few on Windows. I hope I'm contributing in a useful way!

Most of the DRS faucets have been dry for some time.
- CyanRainbow is still accumulating debt with zero balance for a few weeks
- Getcoin2.com is dry and is showing balances owing
- coinok.pw/faucet/drs went dry weeks ago and declared "Unfortunately, due to lack of funds, coinOK closed on August 17, 2014." - the onsite crypto converter is still active and shows 1 BTC=1428571.42857143 DRS
- cryptocoinfaucet.appspot.com went offline after getting hacked a while back (weeks?)
- [Suspicious link removed] is still active, but with only a daily 0.01 DRS payment - (I take what I can get!)

Some suggestions:
- I recommend cryptoblox.com as a decent active faucet right now - hourly payout and clean interface.
- [Suspicious link removed] is very active also, but might draw attention with a higher payout - the home page has great daily stats

It would be good if it was a nice steady slow rise in value instead of a huge pump then dump. Long term growth is desired imo.

Yes it's way better than a P&D. Pumps are good if done right. If pumpers exit without dumping hard and instead slowly selling off it get them more money and leaves the coin way better (usually) than it was before the pump started.

Update: Dumpers Screwed the value of the coin up, Bittrex de-listed DRS after a couple of months of being in the Red Zone on there, Coinpayments screwed us over on the first Coin vote after changing owners (a lot more than 5 different people voted I know for a fact) DRS was still being accepted as a payment on http://bitscoinshop.com.br/en but seemed to have been de-listed even after payments were made to them initially...

Allcoin & AllCrypt exchanges are still trading, Allcoin Exchange is the place to go for your DRS though.

A few pools, faucets & games have been taken down as with the website due to inactivity.

In saying that, if anyone has any ideas or initiative with what can be done for the coin then feel free to speak.

Yes I could perhaps do a Reboot/Coin Exchange that you could trade in your existing coins for new ones at a certain rate

I could also add one of these Algorithms X11,X13 or X15.

I can even put in PoS making it PoW/PoS at the same time and lowering the coin cap.

Maybe even have a more appealing graphical interfaced wallet with block explorer, etc.

But in saying that... What will all this do ?

It would probably be pumped and dumped again, even after all the effort I went into acquiring people who wanted to take on new means of payment in DenariusCoin for MMO items/Indie Games but none of the big places (CoinPayments) etc wanted to or were either too lazy to so that left it unachievable for potential sales of products/services for DRS.  >:(

Anyway............. Right now I'm pretty sure the only way to mine Denarius is by solo mining as all the pools have closed, interestingly enough TradeMyBit MultiPool closed up its doors to all coins due to low profits  ???

You can also get some from the Faucets but its a small amount  :-\

Interesting that they would do this even after the activity in DRS over the past 2 weeks. Even if they quit carrying DRS, hopefully other bigger exchanges will carry it.  I wrote Cryptsy, and  Swisscex  an email last week, and filled out a suggestion form with Poloniex. I have heard from Cryptsy and they  stated that they were going to send the information to their dev team for review to see if it meets their requirements for addition to Cryptsy. So good news on that part? Who knows? If they do add it, then yes I would see that as great news. Having DRS on a bigger exchange would mean more exposure, and more potential buyers. The only thing I can see that an exchange may not like in this coin is that it doesn't have an official website, and the facebook and twitter links seem to be gone.

It would be good if BitJohn & BigVern add Denarius [DRS] to Cryptsy, then it could be along side Bottlecaps [CAP] once and for all.

I contacted AllCoin asking them not to de-list DRS & they have announced that it will be staying.

It was on Bittrex at one stage but you all know how Bittrex works  :-\

Denarius used to have an official Website, Twitter & Facebook accounts but they seem to have closed down and dissappeared  ???  maybe due to inactivity on the account when I checked them.

I just noticed that Denarius has past the 1 Year mark  :)

It still has a BTC market with a value around 20-30 satoshi with 4,541,440 coins created so far.

Should have called it Daenerys Mother of Dragons coin  ::)

I heard AllCoin Exchange has finally scammed its customers.... Since DRS's only market is on AllCoin which seems pointless now since you can't withdraw, is there any chance to see it on Cryptopia or YoBit ?

I take it the current coin cap won't be accurate either as whatever DRS on the AllCoin orderbooks/wallets won't ever be able to be withdrawn and used.

I am not totally sure about the AllCoin situation but getting DRS to live on Cryptopia or YoBit would be ideal for the coins survival, especially on Cryptopia since it has 7 different Base Markets it could use.

I'll vote on Cryptopia, I doubt it will get on but it would be good if it did.

Hi all can someone help me.  I want to solo mine but have a few computers that i need to mine as well how can i achieve this.  Example my home pc my laptop my server to all mine together.  From what i gather with solo mining i have to be minining on the same machine as the wallet or can i achieve what i want without having to setup an elaborate pool or join another mining pool
