Brock Pierce is such a porn name.

Danger

Not just porn but child rape.
There will be a run-off election.
Brock Pierce has the type of past that will be used to mock, shame and severely damage BTC.

In case folks missed the video: http://web.archive.org/web/20060208124607/http://www.fuckedcompany.com/den/

Can't wait to see the Hitler parody video.

"Brock Pierce has done this, and this, and spoke here and here, now he's here at this Bitcoin conference."

"As soon as Brock takes over Mount Coxs and is on The Bitcoin Foundation board, I'm going to get a golden shower."

"Mein Fuhrer. Brock Pierce..."

"Brock Pierce's pedophile past has been outed..."

"Anybody who hasn't fantasized about fucking an induced coked-up Mexican midget boy, please leave the room."

...

I see the damage already getting worse.
Does anyone know the date of the run-off election for the empty seats?

I am not getting paid. I had no money during 2013. All my income goes back into development.

Information about this foundation shouldn't be that important.

But I'm afraid as long someone would finally create different foundation or everyone is get drunk enough we wont be able to do much about it.

Right and did Gavin get paid in the beginning? Or all the other contributors to the code of which there are many.

You're all making my point. Is Gavin being paid now? Yes.
Would he continue to work on Bitcoin if he wasn't paid? Likely No.

they should follow the british governments election strategy.. first take brock pierce out of the equation due to his illicit and disgusting life history. and the divide the 34 votes between bobby lee and vinny lingham(whoever he is?)

oh then ofcourse even with bobby lee then getting 62 votes.. make the decision of employing all of them and forming a coalition as a group entity within the foundation

Or they could just disband the foundation right now and stop pretending that they own Bitcoin.

Politicians are generally about as sharp as the leading edge of a bowling ball. The foundation keeps representing Bitcoin as if they can control it and politicians don't realize that is not true. Look at the key members of the foundation that have had problems with the legal system so far. I really don't understand why that collection of idiots want to put their neck in a hangman's noose and run around the world handing the rope to anyone that will take it.

If you add to bitcoin (main currency) "p2p market" would not depend exchanges and neither would be begging to go on Amazon, Ebay and others.
Thousands of buyers and sellers arise without depending on anything else.
But with owners of exchanges there, nothing will change.

if the foundation should continue to exist what would be needed? in my opinion

paying the main coders to keep bitcoin-core maintained
paying bounties (not fixed salary) to PR guys to actually correct erroneous media stories
paying on demand lawyers to sort out legal issues (again not fixed salaries to sit on their hands)

and not have people that have bitcoin businesses that would make bitcoin-core change its code in favour of greed, as oppose to open and honest bitcoin features that is best for the community.

I agree that the foundation does come off as "owning" bitcoin to people who aren't familiar with it. They should have a motto or slogan saying, " We do not own bitcoin, no one does and that's the beauty in it, we simply spread the word"

Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way.

This statement is revealing enough. Most dictators would agree.  Roll Eyes

TBF fanboys don't like to have their primary source of self-confidence threatened. Relax, nobody will take away your cool TBF badge you've proudly collected...

You don't know your history. Dictatorships offer only the choice to follow. Fortunately with bitcoin there is an opportunity to organize and effect change.  You can take charge of your future and shape it. That's called leadership. You can follow and support ideas and work with others toward a goal. Or you can cry like a baby while the world passes you by.
This is why your ideas will remain largely in your own head and buried in unread internet posts. While those who do something productive, like the foundation members, will shape the future. Of course the more the better. If you have other ideas about bitcoin then you should do some work to make it happen. But if your plan begins and ends with tearing other people down then I assume you don't actually have any ideas.

All your pro TBF propaganda starts from the flawed assumption that "something has to be done". Your concept of leadership clearly shows totalitarian/fascitic elements ("lead, follow, or perish!") which most dictatorships embrace.

The opposite notion "nothing has to be done" is an equally qualified statement. I say: I don't want bitcoin to be influenced by governmental bootlickers or shady characters that want to change it in some way to profit - I want bitcoin to be decentralized, independent and free. Therefore a centralized, closed circle foundation is not a benefit but a hazard for bitcoin.

If developers need funds, they can just post a donation address. No foundation needed for this.

Bobby Lee isn't a bad choice as we need the Chinese to feel semi represented in the foundation, but im not so sure about Pierce since he has alternate accountability to people outside the user base.
