OK I will avoid her now, thanks. The Clippers won in the first round and the losing coach was fired.

Wouldn't surprise me if she hadn't tried blackmailing him in some way, but maybe this is just Sterling's attack on her trying to get his own back.

I didn't watch the entire video but just the brief clips on the Fallon sketch, but what did she lie about? Blackmail will probably be hard to prove unless Sterling has actually got any recorded conversations, but I'm sure she told him prior to the release of the tapes that she had them, but it's how she asked or what she asked for that is the key element.

This is interesting, but I don't think that it is quite possible. Donald Sterling’s wife wants to keep Clippershttp://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/360115/sports/basketball/nba-donald-sterling-s-wife-wants-to-keep-clippers-reportShelly Sterling says she wants to maintain ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers, even though the league is seeking to oust her husband from the team he has owned since 1981. Clippers co-owner Shelly Sterling told the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday (Thursday, PHL time) that she believes she has a legal right to run the team and that the sanctions leveled against her husband, Donald Sterling, don't apply to her.

Are they separated or still together? If they're separated or going through a divorce then she'll probably get her fair share anyway, but if they're still together I doubt she'll get it.

Legally, Rochelle is still married to Donald Sterling, although they have been living separately for a few years now. That dims the chances of her getting anything from the NBA.

The Clippers and Warriors need to do something to show Sterling that his actions were unacceptable and they are a united front against his twisted world view. It needs to be done in Game 5 though. I don't think not playing would be right because that's more punishing the fans as opposed to Sterling.

This is a very odd situation. But it does remind us no matter how much money you make, or how famous you are, racism still exists.

based on his interview with anderson cooper, it's pretty obvious that he is mentally unhinged. he's definitely racist, but he's racist and mentally ill. i don't think it's right that the NBA forces him to sell his franchise, but i guess it's the politically correct thing to do.

Agreed. The reaction from the NBA was a bit over the line. To be honest, it is not appropriate to fine someone (and that too someone who is dying of end-stage cancer) $250 million for a single offensive comment.

Hmm.... the NBA is already pulling in billions of USD in sponsorship and television deals every year. They simply don't feel the need to popularize the game anymore. BTW.... Obama must be thanking the NBA, for the $250 million capital gains tax payment. Should be enough for a day's food stamps and other welfare benefits.

It's obvious what she and he has been doing, he's the supporter of a dead or dying ideology that is founded on stupidity and ignorance and he is also trying to placate the opposite side as well which isn't going well at all. Meanwhile she is definitely a gold digging girlfriend who picked a controversial target and didn't have the brains to figure out it was probably a bad idea to hang out with someone who clearly was either brought up racist, is racist or has ties with a lot of racist people.

I feel sorry for Donald Sterling... first of all his "girlfriend" is a gold digging whore, there is no question about that. According to another one of his phone conversations she treats her own family like shit, which is no surprise because people like her are real scum of the earth.
About him being racist, I doubt he's a 100% racist but his words form that recording were pretty harsh... it seems like he still has a backwards mentality when it comes to minorities even if he's not a complete racist. But I feel sorry for him because the way this audio was leaked out (from gold-digging whore) was an invasion of privacy and completely unfair. And he goes on CNN to apologize and somehow ends up making it even worse for him by going off on Magic... I have a feeling it's a combination of Donald just being incompetent to what he's saying and CNN's own manipulation for creating more drama.
As for him losing his NBA team, that is fair game. NBA is a franchise organization, they do not deal with scandals or racism.. they need to keep an image, and that is pretty much everything for them. It has nothing to do with freedom of speech or invasion of privacy... It's the same with any company... if I say some outrageous shit that hurts my company, even in private, and word leaks out then my company WILL fire me.
