Awaking the Zombie. As a Mod/ Bitcoin Expert/ Bitcoin-Qt core developer if you want to test www.100bit.co.in, you might like to PM us. We will be happy to provide the joining fee. Please note that, right now, we have almost zero or no volume. Also https is not yet implemented... We will be launching a P2P exchange soon where joining requires a nominal fee (~0.01 BTC) mainly for scam protection. We plan to invite Mods, Bitcoin Experts and Bitcoin-Qt core developers as a part of BETA testing. We plan to provide the 0.01 BTC to them for joining. We will create a thread regarding this. But probably, the thread may be overlooked by some Mods. So, is it allowed to PM the thread link to all the mods individually or that may be considered as spam ? Thanks, 100 Bitcoin www.100bit.co.in

I think if you PM'd all the mods here there's a high likelihood you might get banned for spamming. I doubt they'd be interested in this anyway but I'd wait to see what responses you get from them here before you start messaging them.

Unless you know them or you're sure they won't mind, don't send them unsolicited offers. Start a thread, or better yet, reuse one of your previous threads about 100bit.co.in ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=558065.0 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=526706.0), and you could try paying people to put your link in their signatures to get more exposure (just don't forget to remind them their accounts can get banned if they spam too much, so I wouldn't advise paying people per each post).

Thank you so much for the quick response. Just want to clarify one thing. Unless I reach out the Mods/Bitcoin Experts/Bitcoin-Qt core developers, how do I know if they are interested or not ? I can assure a second PM wont go to anyone if I dont get a response. But, if I PM them, even u, for the first time, will it lead to ban ?

I won't ban you, but I may change my mind if I (or any of the other Global Mods or admins) start getting reports from non-Global Moderator Staff members that they're receiving unsolicited messages from you. Nice to see that you're asking, though

Generally speaking, anyone can PM me about anything they like, people usually do anyway so no worries. Whether I can help you or not is something else and don't be upset if I don't reply

I'm not a fan of receiving a mass message to all mods, and I think a few others would be on the same page as me.
You should probably just make a post for your beta access to see who is interested, then filter out people you don't want.

What makes you think mods are some sort of "bitcoin experts". Most are just normal forum members with an unsatisfied internal masochistic desire to deal with forum related crap in large doses. ~BCX~

You've told us now (and I'm not interested). I would prefer you post it in service announcements or similar and not PM me/us.

So 0.01 BTC makes anyone trusted(ie scam protection). Great.
Ps: Ontopic: Don't PM them, just post a public thread and those who are interested will contact you.

Thank you everyone for voicing your opinion. We'd proceed the way you have suggested by having a thread and PMing to only those who are showing +ve interest here or have already sent PM to us. @BitcoinEXpress Bitcoin expert & Bitcoin-Qt core developer are 2 different badges people hold on this forum (ref: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0). @escrow.ms I'd be quick to correct you before any misconfusion arise. 0.01 BTC does not make anyone trusted. This is mainly for scam protection, i.e. keeping a random scammer at bay. Registering on a P2P exchange just to scam is a disgusting trend and it just raises number of disputes. We understand 0.01 BTC does not completely eradicate the scam problem and hence we have trade based trust level formation system and some other measures as well. Hope, we have been able to clear your doubt. Once we launch, it would be great if you join www.100bit.co.in to give us a try. Any other question/clarification regarding the service is highly welcome @ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=558065.0

Do you have any proof that 0.01 BTC does anything at all for scam protection? It could even make things worse because people might be complacent since you're telling them there's scam protection... when there's really nothing at all.

Yeah I wanted to know same thing because people are getting scammed even on localbitocoins where escrow is enabled by default and they also use trust rating etc, WOT is also same.

I think a very little joining amount is actually good to stop unwanted people rather than free registration. Even wiki.bitcoin.it implements this too stop random spamming. In internet, the difference between 0 & 1 is much more than the difference between 1 & 100.

We will probably be implementing this feature in our upcoming releases. But, unfortunately this is not possible in the first release, which coming soon.

I don't see how a fee, especially one as low as that, would protect anybody from scams. It just comes across as an unnecessary barrier to entry.
Ideally you would want as few barriers as possible, instead applying other measures within the exchange to limit the likelihood/possibility of such scams occurring.
