One week later I'm made whole again. So no they don't lose your coin, but it may take a while to get your hands on it.

I had problems with them that took about a week to sort out once. They sorted it out in the end and apart from that I had no other problems with them. In my opinion it's highly unlikely you will lose your coins, you will probably have a frustratingly long wait.

thanks for replying to my post, man.  Grin It's comforting to know that stuff like this does get resolved in the end. I'll just wait it out then.
I wish they would have just addressed my concerns instead of ignoring me. I know 25000 Nxt is nothing to them, but it definitely means something to this small time guy.

Like the above: just give them some time.
I've had a 10,000 NXT deposit sit in limbo for 5 days before it finally turned up.
Keep on communicating with Cryptsy support, make sure that it has been escalated to their second line support desk, but don't expect much communication from them : they only posted my issue as resolved 36 hours after the missing NXT turned up.

Good luck....

Thanks guys. I really appreciate it! I'll keep on top of it with support like you've suggested. The only reason I took this public was that I was worried if I let enough time pass without bringing it up that my claims would be dismissed and I'd never have a chance to get my coin back.
