New coins are released almost daily... they are all junk. Until you can sell them for cash they are worthless...
Everyone converts junk coins for BTC and cash out when they want. You can see this by looking at the exchanges and the value of the coins over time....

vertcoin has one of the best non-scrypt/SHA market caps, but i dont know much more than that about it. Is it better to mine scrypt still with my GPUs until the ASICs truly flood the market, or should I already be switching to X11 or scrypt-n?

Nope, both X11 and SCRYPT-N are junk. We need something better to keep GPU alive. someone said that is darkcoin, others say vertcoin, who know

For now i'd say vertcoin.
X11 have some suspicious miners (FPGA miners probably).

Vertcoin is profitable to mine with GPUs and the Dev of vertcoin has said that he would hardfork the coin if asics for scrypt-n will get developed. But Scrypt-N is power hungry and if you want to save electricity bill , you can mine Darkcoin which is x11.

The problem with scrypt-n is that if N go too high, you can't mine it well with GPU.. So no, it is not the best..

Vertcoin in the long run. X-11 may be better for cooler operation but it's actually easier to build asic for it. The problem with scrypt-n is that if N go too high, you can't mine it well with GPU.. So no, it is not the best..
That is assuming GPU development is stagnant. Which is so unlikely considering the r&d budget amd and nvidia has.
