whats a great program to use for remembering and even entering in your passwords..

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

LastPass is nice in that it connects to browsers.

did someone say correct battery horse staple?

+1 for lastpass, the generate secure password feature is great. all of my passwords are random 10 digit strings containing at least one upper, lower, numeric and symbol character.

And this is why password rules exist in the first place  Wink

Keepass is nice, one password accesses an encrypted password file with all your usernames/passwords and even has autotype.  Never used Lastpass but it sounds similar.

Here's one that's hack proof with a long term storage solution.

DO NOT FORGET THE LAMINATE! My wife spilled (rather, the soil of the plant-holder leaked) water on a password unlocking an encrypted hidden drive with scans of both of our tax documents on it, among other important docs. Of course, when I was hatching the plan to put the p/w on paper, I was thinking "Oh man, I'm so freakin' clever... I put 10 random characters on the paper, and between each letter goes a password I have memorized... even if someone finds it, they'll never be able to figure it out." When the water spilled, the ink became unreadable. I was pissed off that my parents gave birth to a moron. Sad

I use this one. Syncs over browsers (auto-fill also) and you can also easy access your 'vault' trough their website.
Very handy future if your on a remote location and don't remember ;sfd5-ef#$574daf87 for a password.

I use a single passphrase to generate passwords for each site:
Code:
echo -n passphrase:name_of_site|sha1sum

+1 for LastPass, because it works with any browser that I have tried, imports existing saved passwords, AND interfaces with my Yubikey Cool

I use Yubikey Master Password for Firefox with my own yubikey-mp server. For program passwords, I use my memory and a notepad. Tongue

It takes a while to get everything figured out, but it's better than entrusting a company with your passwords.
