If you are serious about getting into BTC mining, then there really can only be two ways to go, one is to run it for the sake of supporting the community, two is to make money from it, which means not playing around with USB toys unless in the near future someone comes up with a 100 GH/s USB miner, at which point, yes 46 of them would get you in the game.

Bitcoin mining USB sticks only mine bitcoin. There is a USB stick that does Litecoin, but from what I can see, you are referring to the now very outdated 330 MH/s USB sticks from yesteryear. 46 of those will give you about 15 GH/s all up, or about 40c a day at current difficulty, and by XMAS, about 13c a day.
Take into account about 100 watts an hour 46 USBs would accumulatively use, plus the power draw of the hubs, and you would be left with nothing, or close to nothing, if not running at a loss.

No not worth it.
In order to mine for profit, you need cheap or free electricity, need power efficient ASIC mining equiipment, and decent cooling to ensure uptime and continuous operation.
Ideally this would be in a datacenter environment. Unless you have budget for both mining equipment and datacenter hosting, probably not worth it for you.
If you're just doing it as a hobby, a USB hub with a few USB miners should be fine for fun and learning about the technology.

Wow what a nasty little response you have there to a person asking for advice. NEW person i might add. p.jensen.dkk pay no attentions to Dick remarks from user like him. My advice is to start small tinker around with USB miners and this way if you don't like it you can walk away with minimal loss. good luck and happy mining Well am a dick. I do read first wen i want to Know something . Its so easy to find that unless u have a lot off money ,only then,u can ,mebe" make a roi. A usb miner to start that is also not a good advise . He is from denmark..right? u know what power cost there? Just buy bitc, it save u a lot of problems. AS I know am a big miner and its all a pain in the ass. The people who are selling the stuff are not " Ever, keeping there promise.!!! H

first of all i am doing this for fun and of course i hope to make a little coin or two and i have free electricity
i have been looking at (Bitfury Twin Chip USB ASIC bitcoin miner 4~5 GH/s) it cost 45$ and also (49 Port Powered USB 2.0 Hub) 200$ and a Raspberry Pi whit card and cables 70,99$
there is room for 28 usb miner in the usb hub so that is around 140GH/s is that okay to start whit
and the whole setup will only cost me around 1530$

No not the USB sticks! Buy a bigger machine. Antminer S1's are the best W/GH atm I think. Go for those. They are also cheap.

If you're thinking of throwing away money at USB sticks at 140 GH/s for $1530 I have a better solution for you: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=608147.0Get in on that Group Buy for $1650, and you'll end up with an S2 at 1 TH/s shipped in over a week or 10 times what you almost threw your money at. Thank me later.

I'd have to say NO.
I've sunk about 10K overall into mining in two months and have made about $1000.00 back at this point. My profits will deteriorate in 2-3 months and then I will be left with maybe half of my investment back--if I am lucky.
It sort of totally sucks.
Although it was sort of neat to play with the devices and whatnot I would rather bought a new car and I feel like a huge fool.
Oh, and I didn't even mention all the time it has taken away from my life trying to get it running perfectly, monitoring, etc.
HUGE EXPENSIVE HEADACHE.
JUST BUY BTC.
I would have 20+ BTC right now if I had just bought instead of 2, 2 #$&@ing BTC.

Which miners do you have if you don't mind me asking? Threw about 5k into a group buy of antminers and jupiters and gridseeds. And then another 7k into personal gridseeds and dualminer usbs.

Not worth at all, BTC and Litecoin mining is all dead. The only one left is mining x11 with GPU but the profit is really low (depends on your electricity). The best bet right now is to buy BTC straight from exchange..
