Addikted2Ink Tattoo Studio will be located in Louisville, Kentucky and have set an ideal opening date on or around July 15th or earlier.
The tattoo crowd has became increasingly accepted and is seen virtually everywhere, from clothing lines, art work, even toy stores. This change is attributed to the shift in society’s perception of an industry once only associated with thugs and ex-cons. Now made popular and more importantly credible through t.v shows such as, Miami Ink, Tattoo nightmares, Ink Master and several more all helping to bring this more mainstream.

The industry has grown exponentially attracting millions of customers across the U.S. almost one quarter of all women and one fifth have at least 1 tattoo. Translating that into $1.3 billion in revenue annually with 15,000 tattoo studios across the U.S alone.
Given the growing popularity among society the ideal target market for Addikted2Ink Tattoo will be the generation of (1980s-2000s) The growth is expected to represent 26.7% of the total population by 2015. Almost four in ten people in a group have a tattoo, and about half of those with tattoos have two to five and 18% have six or more.

Addikted2Ink will be privately owned. Our mission is to provide expert and exceptionally creative tattoo artists for customers interested in body are. We will also be offering Laser tattoo removal. The qualities that will set us apart from other studios in the area will be out exceptionally talented staff and wide variety of services.

The Studio

Addiked2Ink will provide customers with exceptionally talented and accomplished tattoo artists from around the globe in order to deliver high quality and professional product. We will also offer clients to purchase complete tattoo sleeves, Tattoo removal, jewelry and clothing.
Privately owned corporation, the decision is based on a number of things that could potentially go wrong in this specific industry, from a simple fungal infection to the contraction of life threatening viruses like HIV. As a result of the mentioned hazards associated with this business the decision to incorporate will limit personal liability.

Target Market

Individuals that share a passion for body art that views it as a form of self-expression. Tattoo’s are no longer limited to “sailors, bikers and cons.” There is now a great diversity in clients, from professionals to grandparents.
Customers will cross all age groups but our target market are customers between ages 18-32. Tattoo art now attracts the middle to upper class with larger disposable income for more elaborate tattooing.

Addikted2Ink Advantages

One of the main advantages we will have is offering laser tattoo removal. Not many shops/studios offer that around this area. As well as very talented artists that will each specialize in various forms of tattooing.

Business Goals

1.       To have a loyal client base, which 90% of its clients will return for additional tattooing and also refer new clients.
2.       To demonstrate to its staff and clients that the health and care of our customers is the top priority.
3.       To work with the best artists around the area, and let them build the reputation of our studio.

SWOT Analysis

Strengths- Innovative ideas, (tattoo removal) outstanding service, exceptionally talented artist with a variety of clothing and other merchandise that will be available online and in the store front.

Weaknesses- Addikted2Ink is not an established business/brand name and therefore lacks a loyal large client list, other than a small base from previous work place.

Opportunities- Tattooing is becoming very popular and increasingly more mainstream resulting in a high growth market.

Threats- Mild competition with a couple older studios of established business.

Management and employee

CEO-and manager-

A2I - IPO would release 35% of the company (31,500 shares) to the public for investing.  This funding will allow you to buy initial equipment and rental for buildings.  (Do keep all BTC that was invested as BTC though do to the subsequent increase in prices that will come, only spend as needed).  Report all purchases and statements weekly.

A2I -I will be paid $7.25 per hour (min wage) no more than 25 hours per week ($181.25) when not tattooing.  When manager tattoos the income will be split 50/50 between tattooer and business, and tattoeer will treated be independent contractor.

A2I will release profit (revenues - expenses) sharing at the end of month in equivalent bitcoin, after all expenses have been paid.

This way as Manager wouldd make $181.25 per week guaranteed to start up the business, run the books, and market and also make money by tattooing as an independent contractor, and then revenue share at this point 65% of the profits per month.

VIP- $2500 or more- All of the above, including all expense paid to be at the Grand Opening, as well as 25% off all tattoos and will be able to contact me anytime with any idea’s we may include into the company to expand and be successful.

I live in Australia and it would cost more than $2500 just for the flights to the US ignoring all other expenses. So getting an all expense trip to Louisville if i buy the shares sounds like a pretty good deal even if the company does eventually completely bomb.

You have a valid point. Ill think about that today and update tonight. Wouldn't make much sense if someone's airfare cost more than their investment lol.

If you are doing real business and targeting internet users (or else you will not accept bitcoins), you should register a domain name and put the information online. I feel suspicious when you talk a relatively high revenue business, yet still use google doc, gmail and live.com mails.

If you have any questions feel free to ask, you can email me anytime.

MrWDunne,

You are 100% right about the cheesy kick starter feel so i took those offers out. Thank you for your opinion.
As far as why anyone should invest in me and the studio, well, I'm a real go getter, always trying to think ahead to make things better. I can take constructive criticism of anyone that has any. I'd be willing to have several people post on my credibility and honesty, aswell as i'm always on a mission for more. As far as your ROI, I figure every month after studio rent, utilities, ins, etc 15% of profit would go to investors. You would be getting that every month until your investment is returned, and will continue to get the 15% afterward. (still determining the length) if not forever i suppose. I'm doing everything myself, ideas, writing, looking for locations, investors etc etc. I'll have the .com up over the weekend and possibly a business phone number for anyone that would like to speak.

Thanks again for your input, it's greatly appreciated.

How about considering splitting the profits amongst the investors monthly. Let's say I invest $200, so perhaps I get 0.5-1% of your profit every month.

JD trollbox looks like some business incubator recently  Grin good luck!

Absolutely - Always has been to if you listen to right people.

Now Mike - I am actually interested in this but issues I have is

1: CEO/Manager pay - honestly you are a good guy but imo $42k a year is excessive for a salary (Honestly I would believe minimum wage more appropriate, and then USD based on profits), (15% would be divided to any and all investors, means you keep 85% ownership)

2: The other "employees" would be independent contractors and in my opinion also need to pay rental space, or a direct split of 50%/50% of the tattoo cost

3: Tattoo removal service is absolutely needed

4: How many shares are being released or is this more of a Kickstarter type project because I would only be interested in owning something and not seeding something like Kickstarter

5:  I assume you will accept BTC at location

Hey bud-

1: I'll work on some numbers to see if i can get it down a bit. As far as minimum wage for a tattoo artist/owner, totally out of the question, lol.
my hourly charge when i tattoo is $100per hour. If i wanted to make minimum wage i'd work at mcdonalds, lol

2: The other employess are independent contractors- i covered that in the thread. Smiley

3: Tattoo removal i feel would bring ALOT of business.

4: Yes going to accept bitcoin.

Thanks uv- Message me anytime.

Can you elaborate on your marketing strategy?  Spending only $3,500 for $144,000 annual revenue seems a bit low, I'd like to understand the marketing plan better.

What is the average price for a tattoo?  What is the average price for laser removal?

How did you come to the expense figures in your initial post?

Are the listed expenses just for overhead?  What are the incremental costs for each service?  What are the incremental costs per added employee?

Do you reserve forced buyback rights?

Since this is primarily a fiat-based business, do you have any way to address currency risk (rising BTC prices resulting in declining share and dividend value)?

Flash tattoo that take less than an hour are usually 60-80.00
Shop minimum is $50.00
Shop Hourly price - $100 per hour.

Laser removal would be around $150 per session. Average sessions to removal a tattoo 6-10 depending on detail and size. So you can say $1050.00 give or take.

It usually costs around 10.00 in supplies to do a tattoo. The laser machine i am looking at is 1800 but, i think it would pay for itself pretty fast.
each artist uses their own machines, inks etc. They pay 50% of all tattoos that they do.

You are not a tattoo artist/owner - When you are tattooing you are too an independent contractor, when you are not tattooing you are a hourly office manager.  Most people who own businesses don't take salaries when looking for investors, they take their shares of profits.

I would suggest you

1- Setup the company - if you want ownership maintainance keep 75% of Shares and IPO 25% - This is profits = Revenues - costs  * Issue here is if you are seeking $30k USD then at 25% you are valuing the company at $120k (Not sure I agree with this)

2- When you are tattooing - you are a 1099 independent contractor paying 50% of tattoo to company - the other 50% is yours less costs of your materials (ink and such)

3- When not tattooing - books, bills and such you make minimum wage - and this is part time - and doesnt count hourly rate when tatting (so if you work 40 hours and 30 is tattooing only 10 is min wage)

I don't really agree. A tattoo artist can make 40,000 dollars a year. However, a studio owner can make up to 100,000 dollars a year. It all depends on where your tattoo parlor is located and how much business you get. Why would I want to run the studio, etc for less? lol I would tattoo before i done that. But thanks for your input man

"The split will be 50%-60% with the studio." - How come?
"I'm doing everything myself, ideas, writing, looking for locations, investors etc etc" - So, how mutch are you looking to raise from investors?

-edit- I just read: 18,000 - 35,000 usd. So, 35,000 usd are 15% of the company. Seriously, do you really think that the "doing everything myself, ideas, writing, looking for locations, investors etc etc" worth 233,333 usd?

And as studio owner with 85% interest you would make $100,000 per year less the 15 (or 25%) reserved for your investors if your studio was at that level.

Or were you suggesting that a studio owner typically gets paid $42,000 per year **and** 100% of profit on all other income?

I was just going by what other studio owners make etc. However- I thought about tattooing in shop aswell and lower the salary i suggested. Also- internet sales, and in store sales of merchandise is a great money maker aswell.

Well, I'm just asking how those other studio owners make that $100,000. I highly doubt it is a salary, they probably make $100,000 from their percentage share of other artists and sales inside the shop. If that is the case then the salary is unnecessary. If they actually get paid a $100,000 salary then they probably are not the studio owner but only a manager? I have no idea how tattoo shops work so I am just curious.
