Satoshi Nakamoto is the true father of the Bitcoin movement to create a decentralized currency. After spending years working on his project he writes a paper describing the essence of a revolutionary new protocol.
Gavin Andresen aka Gavin Bell began working with Satoshi to optimize the protocol for the masses.

During this time another shady character, Mark Karpeles, uproots his life in France and decides to move to Japan and start an internet company. Why Japan? Shortly after he arrives in Japan Mark buys majority ownership in MTGox.  By that time MTGox is trading in Bitcoin and under Mark's control evolves into the world's largest Bitcojn trading platform.

But where is Satoshi Nakamoto? As the Bitcoin phenomena takes off we are told that Satoshi gives Gavin the alert key to the technology and somehow gives the rights to the Bitcoin name to a Mark Karpeles.

At least that is what we are told by Gavin and Mark. I guess we should take their word for it.

Satoshi Nakamoto subsequently disappeared never to be heard from again. Mark and Gavin founded the Bitcoin Foundation and have made millions leading and misleading newbies into a MTGox.

We now Know around 0.5 Billion dollars has disappeared. They seem to have a knack for making things disappear. Some call it transaction malleability...........What would you call it?

satoshi moved way from bitcoin way before the formation of the foundation, so un-foundation related, sorry to burst that bubble.

as for mtgox scammer, karpeles did run away from france as he had a court case related to fraud against him in france. thus he legged it. but this is also nothing to do with satoshi

Conspiracy theories around bitcoin foundation are incoming Cheesy.

Based on fact that he haven't touched his bitcoins in long it shows that he might be dead (I hope he is not).

If someone would do anything to him, he would already turn bitcoins to fiat and leave on some nice tropical island.

I am focusing on the founders of the Bitcoin Foundation. They appeared to be working as a team prior to the incorporation of the Bitcoin Foundation. The incorporation of the Bitcoin Foundation is a mere formality in this story.

Why leg it it Japan? Shortly after Mark arrives in Japan and becomes involved with Bitcoin, Satoshi disappears. Why did Satoshi give Mark the ownership of the Bitcoin name?

Too many coincidences.

You are spreading some conspiracy theories with no clue of what are you telling us about ...

What means shortly in your opinion? Shortly is a day/week/month/year after?

Smiley Reading this thread is not really funny IMO. I am getting nervous while reading such a trashtalking.

I can guarantee this didn't happen because their isn't anyone in the group bright enough to figure out how to pull it off and not get caught. Karpeles couldn't "disappear" someone. He's still trying to figure out how his business disappeared (although, he can make a caramel latte disappear).

1. karpeles had other reasons to be in japan.. japan is not an issue, whether he set up mtgox in new zealand, africa or spain.. the story would be the same.
2. karpeles, satoshi and gavin are big figure heads of the early era of bitcoin i agree. but its not that the foundation made satoshi run away, its that big figureheads made the foundation (chicken and egg) you choose chicken controlling eggs. i choose eggs creating chickens
3. satoshi did not give the copyright to karpeles. satoshi did not want to register with a government agency 'bitcoin' (trademark not website) as it was against his anonymous-antigovernment nature. so karpeles registered it,
4. no coincidences, as its all tied to the history of bitcoin.. a ripple effect. without satoshi we would not have the protocol, without gavin we wont have the updates and bug fixes, without karpeles (in his honest days) we wont have had a bitcoin value which would have grown.. they all play their parts. like a well wrote story. they are the main characters in a book and without them the story would not be as epic as it is. so of course you will see plot lines of each character cross over each other.. as its part of the whole story. not a coincidence

Yeah, they killed him.

Don't tell anyone!

Seriously, the founding members are not all really early adopters (from: https://github.com/pmlaw/The-Bitcoin-Foundation-Legal-Repo/blob/master/Bylaws/Bylaws_of_The_Bitcoin_Foundation.md):

(a) Founding Members. The Founding Members of the Corporation shall be:

i. Gavin Andresen, Bitcoin Developer residing or doing business in Amherst, MA, USA.

ii. Peter Vessenes, CEO of CoinLab and residing or doing business in Bainbridge Island, WA, USA.

iii. Charles Shrem, CEO of BitInstant residing or doing business in Brooklyn, NY, USA.

iv. Roger Ver, CEO of MemoryDealers residing or doing business in Santa Clara, CA, USA.

v. Patrick Murck, Principal at Engage Legal, PLLC residing or doing business in Washington, DC, USA.

vi. Mark Karpeles, CEO of MtGox.com and residing or doing business in Tokyo, Japan.

vii. Satoshi Nakamoto, at satoshin@gmx.com, author of the white paper “Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System” published on http://bitcoin.org and owner of the PGP Public Key with fingerprint: DE4E FCA3 E1AB 9E41 CE96 CECB 18C0 9E86 5EC9 48A1.

I think people have a misconception about how big the foundation is...it's not like a big organization. Most fast food restaurants have more employees...

Hardforks aren't that hard. It’s getting others to use them that's hard.

The bitcoinfoundation.org was owned by Mark Karpeles until a few days before he filed for bankruptcy. He transferred the domain name to Gavin. Who owned the Bitcoin name before Mark filed for Bankruptcy?

Check the Whois history of bitcoinfoundation.org...

Wow I better grab my tin foil hat! Conspiracies abound!

It is dangerous to start such rumors without even a hint of evidence.

Besides everyone knows he is living in a Birmingham AL trailer park with JFK and Elvis.

Too many coincidences.

The stupidity is beyond belief.

Xtib,

Your only purpose in creating this sock puppet account was to slam the Bitcoin Foundation. At least explain why you have mounted such a vendetta against it. What is your ultimate goal? Is it to destroy Bitcoin, perhaps?
