ok somethings definitely not right here.. my comp crashed for the 3rd time few minutes after mining.. my comp never crashes..
any thoughts?

Yes, i am proud to say i mined second block.

i got 1 block, now it says 9 confirmations, but in my wallet, the "unconfirmed" says zero SLM, not sure why?

I had to recompile from source & missed the first blocks. You better learn how to static pack libboost.

ok after 4th crash, I opened up the case and saw shitload of dust on the cpu fan...
so blew off the dust and put up my box fan on it.
hopefully this will solve the problem.

how big is the block reward? it says 50 on OP but it say 1000 when you type getmininginfo in consol?

And on both old and new computers it will use 100% - that's just what threading does.

If you want to use less CPU, try manually setting which cores it's allowed to use (task manager, processes/details, right-click, Set affinity), or see: Temperature-based control of processes - howto
