ok time to play the devils advocate here:

if the initial distribution is PoW based and all PoB returns depend on how many PoW coins you have. doesnt that lead to the exact same eventuality that those eith the most mining power will get the most coins?

the more coin you burn the more PoB blocks you will get, so by definition more PoW means more PoB.

This is an issue not so easily overcome. Some wouldnt call this an issue at all, but there you have it.

They are compensated by the proof of burn blocks that are generated as a result of the burning Smiley

TheMightyX:

PoB depends on how many coins you have burnt. Those coins could be acquired through PoW, other PoB blocks, PoS, etc. It does have the same effect as PoW, those that burned the most coins will be more likely to land a PoB block than those who burned less.

Many aspects of PoB are like PoW's, except that PoB is easier to maintain and does NOT depend on hardware manufacturers, etc.

I am thinking Wed 28, May. I am currently battling the windows binaries. If those binaries are not done by then I will release the source code and linux binaries and continue battling windows.

What is it with the devs not being able to compile Windows binaries ? Is it that hard to cross compile with mingw ?

Really, I use Linux full time and rarely use Windows and windows is a pain with that kind of stuff when compared to Linux.

White paper reading!!! Good to see some innovation.

what's the innovation?

It's basically proof of stake.

The mining on blackberry thing applies equally to pure proof of stake coins.

PoS is like interest in a bank
PoB requires an initial burning and is fundamentally different. PoB resembles PoW much more than PoS.
