Hi, all.

I've been involved in dogecoin since the early days. I started the #dogecoin IRC channel's organization and recruited many of the ops. I'm _doge on there. I also did some early cloud mining (I don't have a computer with a decent GPU for mining, just an Apple laptop) and got a couple million DOGE for $50 in AWS expenses.

I converted some of my DOGE into cash using bitcoin using coinedup and coinbase. I find that they both work quite well for what they do.

I've been aware of Bitcoin since the early days. I got 3 BTC when the exchange rate was 1 USD per BTC but didn't hold on to them. The money I got ($18) from selling them is trapped in Dwolla because I refuse to give them a scan of my drivers license just to get my money back. It wasn't a condition when I signed up for Dwolla or transferred the money so I should be grandfathered in to receive my money without sending them a scan of my Drivers license.

I am a web developer and am about to start doing my first small project for cryptocurrency. I also am a computer science grad and have general programming skills and am considering helping with wallet software.

Please feel free to ask me about the IRC channel or other experiences, and also anything introductory that I forgot to add here.

Yours,

_doge

Confirmed, have been in #dogecoin for a week or so.

Been involved in the doge community for maybe 3 or 4 months, been passively involved with crypto for about 4 years.

Good to see you!

I didn't set up an account because I didn't really get the hang of it. There are so many posts per category on here. I'm making an effort to dig into these forums to learn more about cryptocurrency communities now.

Spoetnik,

You seem to have a lot of misconceptions about DogeCoin. DogeCoin's continued popularity and reliability proves most of what you've said wrong. It may have been a mere clone at the start but the parameters were sufficient to make a successful cryptocurrency, and more involved work has been done on it since then. Also the wallet was a stroke of genius even from the start, as it incorporated Dogespeak into its user interface. But your reply is off topic. In my intro I didn't argue the merits of Dogecoin so I don't know why you feel the need to come in here and argue against it.

bram_vml,

I don't know if you were asking me or Spoetnik, but no, I'm not from IBM.
