uh oh. i'm still about 1/2 fiat. i wonder if we will see a dip soon so i can get back in? if we can get back to 550, i can break even!! but i'd take 560 if it starts to look like it wont go any lower than that.

what do you guys think?

I think if you are waiting for a dip to buy, you should just buy.

Equally, if you are waiting for a peak to sell, you should sell.

The market never respects your wishes.

Liking your posts...keep on keeping' on!

And then hang around the board moaning for a year afterward about how bitcoin will never amount to anything.

Trading is a totally different beast than investing.

Some tips I use are:
- Buy on rumor, sell on news..
- always put in a low ball bid in when wanting to acquire anything , (stocks, currency, bitcoins) 30% of the value of the item.
- trade WITH the momentum (IE. the trend is your friend)
- watch TA charts but as a guidance not a bible.
- create a google alert for the item you are buying with google.. google will send you daily news and anything about that item daily real time. has made me more money then you could imagine.
- watch moving average (when they cross) Smiley
- understand the REAL value of anything you buy or short. companies have a book value
- UNDERSTAND SUPPLY and DEMAND
- try to find insider information Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

Make YOUR plan and execute it..

That was a good night!!

We even saw a mini retracement and I dont see anything stopping us until the low $712 +/-

Should be a fun next 1-4 days..

How did that short I warned you about work out for you? If you really did short at $540, you can't be too much in the profit now, because you ate those losses and trading fees. Not that I wish you any ill will, but you are making it sound like you are killing it, when you just got bit yourself.

I think a hard retracement is more likely now than at 540.   I do not see us going to 712 without a problem.

Longs are highly leveraged now.

Your advice is good. Some people just tend to 'donate' heavily towards good traders.  Smiley

I would have 10x what I now hold, if I had acted in this manner. Good words to live by.

Or just hold. That seems to work too.

Thanks for the private messages..
Very cool.
Didnt know so many people actually read these forums.

I traded between $446 - $586 usd.

82% were winners and a net profit of 42% overall.

I have done A LOT better and only beat holding from $446 - $586 usd by 18%+/-

It is funny how every month (even after 18 years of trading) I learn something.

I also am disappointing with Bitfinex this week.

4 times during the run up and the mini retracement, market orders were cancelled.. I tried to move the market , close a position,

I do not do many market orders and so when I do I expect fast, efficient execution of my "market order".

If Bitfinex reads this send me a private message so we can talk , I would like to go over a couple things and show you how if you want to be considered for large traders you need to step it up a notch.

Again thank you for the contact again , if you have any questions I can try to help. Send me a private message.

Cheers..

Why are people contacting you? You haven't given good trading advice on here to date and even if you did make a 18% profit on this move, no one else would have following your trades that you wrote about.

Market orders on Finex are done quickly, but they are first come first serve. I always watch the order books on Bitcoinwisdom and Finex at the same time, to make sure that I can see the latest orders. You could always do several smaller limit orders and not risk getting slippage.

Longs are highly leveraged now.

Where do you get information about long and short swaps on Bitfinex?

(Bitfinex is only prominent platform where leverage is possible, right?)

Well aren't you rude..
I guess the internet lets you act that way .. huh?

To be fair, I remember replying to a post you made stating you were shorting at $500. I told you this was a bad idea and advised you take the $5 of profit you had at the time. Since then I have seen posts advertising short trade after short trade. If you have actually been making these trades then you have been getting slaughtered. Perhaps now, at $575, is a good time to start building up a short position, but this could go higher yet and I would imagine that the downside potential may not be so fantastic, at least not in the near term.

Kraken Account, Robbed/Emptied. Kraken say "Fuck you, its your loss": https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1559553.msg15656643#msg15656643

Bitfinex victims. DO NOT TOUCH THE BFX TOKEN! Start moving it around, or trading it, and you will be construed as having accepted it as an alternative means of payment to your USD, BTC, etc.

Yes, I lost profit on that trade but no capital.
I do not trade by the seat of my pants.. I study the trade before, and know 3-4 support and resistance levels, and various other aspects about the trade.

I have made the MOST money staying with my plan and executing that plan.

Years ago i would take small profits and change my trading intra trade.

That is the worst thing you can do!
You should know what you entry price is, your stop loss price and exit price. Unless fundamentals change I am sticking to my trade.

Please also remember that i open 5-6 trades long and short at time. averaging up or down and closing in profit most times..

Cheers,

I like your overall message as it is sound Wink

Your message is about reading the market which is good ..the short at 540 would have been a stop out but its one trade & time to move on ..Win some lose some

If any body is following anybodys trading advice verbatim then you are a fool...or send your money to me and i will look after it @   spendingyourmoney@bflavalonbASIC.com

Also sippysharkdude you need to get a thicker skin than that ...this is "THE INTERNET" & crypto is the wild wild west

Think of a circa 1788 bar in kansas where men where men and the sheep where nervous lolz

That is good advice, and you seem to be having fun which is also important.
"We need to pass $547 to see a REAL jump!"
Bitcoin might be due for some correction, but a "real jump" sounds great....$700, $800, $900?
You said "jump", how high?  Smiley

Agreed ...btc can do 15% per day without breaking a sweat ...I like the 20-40$ per day stuff as its nice and slow

The specialist are manipulating it for their profit but the side effect is they are moving our market higher

Without them it would be a stagnent pond ...long live market manipulation Cheesy

Look. I don't have anything against you. Its just that the few trades you have mentioned, have been duds. And then you start telling us about all the people that have sent you fan mail. It just seems suspicious to me.

Id love you to post your actual trades. I will do the same if you like. We can compare strategies for real, maybe learn something from each other. But you have been trading for 18 years you say and you trade with 200 btc blocks. I know, because I trade with 500-1500 blocks, that it is hard to get into and out of trades on Finex. It either takes forever or you have to pick your prices going in and coming out and let the market move over them.

So, if you are trading 200 btc blocks, your strategy of high frequency trading seems suspect.

But, by all means, lay it out for us in more detail so we can understand.

Personally, I'm on this forum to LEARN. But when I smell bullsh*t I normally call it out, if anything to get clarification or to warn others.
