I made my first 4 BTC buying transactions from overseas via Western Union this week with Bitcoinexchange, and the service was very professional. He underpromises and overdelivers. Looking forward to additional trades in the future.

Anyone have experience selling BTC on their website?

How long does it take before you get a response? Do you get an email response or can you chat with someone live?

The PayPal hammer dropped today.

The account that handled payouts has been frozen, and ironically it has NOTHING to do with Bitcoin or e-currency. It seems to be the random PayPal wrath that everyone speaks of which has no real reason except pure thievery from their end.

They cited some rule about the method I was using to pay was against the rules based on the source of funds I was funding my account with (Huh seriously??)

They said it was against their TOS to use my funds for anything other than payments to online stores, not person to person payments. This is even though they are raking in tons of fees every time I do that.

So basically they froze my account based on some obscure rule about how they didn't like how I was spending my own money, and now it will probably be 6 months before I can get my funds in that reserve unlocked and sent back to me.

Absolutely ridiculous.  In response to this, I am not even going to bother dealing with PayPal any more. I figure I will get my money out eventually and they will simply lose out on the daily fees they get from me whenever I use their service. I will no longer have to give an entity I never liked money, and I no longer have to deal with the headaches associated with them. They lose, I win.

If you are awaiting a PayPal payout from me, you will receive your money within the next few days from one of my backup accounts, I am just working on getting those accounts funded.

I am in the processing of e-mailing everyone with pending PayPal payments to let them know the details of their specific situation. I assure you everyone WILL be paid out, either through a backup paypal account or via western union or bank wire (processing fee for that will be absorbed from my end).

Anyone who is waiting on a Western Union, MoneyGram, or Bank Wire, or gift card, the processing time will be unaffected, however your patience and cooperation is appreciated during this time while I get everyone sorted out.

UPDATE: It looks like PayPal is going to try to withdraw some pending eChecks from my account to let it sit in their black hole for 6 months. I gotta race against time to close my bank account before PayPain can debit it. It's gonna be an early morning tomorrow.

Thanks again to everyone for being so understanding and cooperative regarding the delays.

6 months? That's insane! Absolutely despise Paypal.

I admire the actions you're taking to get everyone their money.

Done several more transactions with bitcoinexchange and they all went well  Smiley
I have a pending paypal payment and he was prompt with an explanation.

I'm wondering what would be the easiest alternative to paypal with the least fees for the future.

Moneygram seems decent, from what I understand you send money from your bank account through moneygram to my name, send me the transaction number, then I go to a moneygram location with my ID and pick it up in cash.
Westernunion looks to be the same deal.

When it rains it pours.

We are no longer accepting MoneyPak refill cards as payment, as the headaches from the GreenDot corporation are not worth the hassle.

If you have sent me a MoneyPak refill card within the last 48 hours, your card will not be used by me.

I have sent e-mails out to all my MoneyPak inquiries and provided an alternate route.

I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused, but I am now removing MoneyPak refills as methods of payment, and removing PayPal as a method of cashout because I am simply spending too much time sitting with them on hold and navigating their automated phone prompts as they continue to rob me of my money and delay payouts of Bitcoins and cash to my customers.

UPDATE 6/13/2011 - MoneyPak issues are resolved. We now accept MoneyPak as payment for BTC.

Have you guys looked at Amazon's payment service?  It may be a better alternative to PayPal (there is also reduced fees and pretty convenient for anyone not in the USA).

darn, i was gonna try and set up a paypal payout with you sometime in the near future....too bad that they dropped the ball on their end.....either way, have you looked into newegg.com giftcards at all?  I was going to buy some equipment (a video card) from there with paypal, however I thought i'd ask if that would be a payout possibility....

Hi! It's been a long time since I've been here, (Sheesh! my ISP's IP addresses were being banned by this forum for some reason - it works today, not tomorrow cycle).

As we have talked about before, Paypal eventually did freeze your account. Everyone here doesn't like their TOS BS whatever!

Well I'm not fretting since you have a lot of options for cashing out. =)

Satisfied customer here having sold 5BTC to buy the domain name for monitoring mining pools.

Unfortunately, I only have access to paypal and I'm not in the US...so I won't be your repeat customer anytime soon.

all the best.

This is why I don't like Americans...you love your Paypal and Greendot and all the other US based crap.

You realize that:

One, you get no privacy whatsoever?

Two, shit will rain down on you like hellfire? I mean, really, do you guys know anything about the Patriot Act? All the retarded financial reporting requirements that are already imposed? Do you guys what Obama is doing for the past couple of years? About how he is slowly enacting legislations with the final goal of being able to control and monitor every financial transaction in the US under the excuse of "to get back money lost through tax evasion and prevent money from falling into the hands of terrorists"?

Three, paypal freezes accounts for the stupidest things? and imposes a extremely unfavorable chargeback system for merchants? in terms of, you as a customer, after purchase, has six months to make a chargeback, in other words, merchants can't use their own hard earned money for 6 fucking months?! I know Americans are turning socialist, but do you think that's fair?!

Understand: paypal and mastercard are just promises to pay. that's all they are, promises.

The solution? Don't fucking use Paypal and Greendot or any other shit located in Socialist Obama Republic of US! That includes Amazon payment, that american express shit, that dowlla shit...each and everyone will eventually cause much grief. I know it's very hard for you Americans, but please open your mind and realize there is whole world of opportunities out there. Look all the payment processors from other countries, alertpay and moneybookers offers the same services as paypal, but without the stupid fees, the stupid chargeback system and the ridiculous freezing policy.

In case you haven't realize yet, but merchants are slowly and quietly adding alertpay and moneybookers as forms of payment, and I am starting to see alot of merchants accepting Liberty Reserve lately...

For those that are saying "oh, Liberty Reserve is in a country I never heard of/outside of US, and therefore they can't be trusted" and "oh, Liberty Reserve is different than Paypal, therefore I am not going to learn it" and "I already learned bitcoin a bit, and that's enough reading and learning for a lifetime, I am not going to learn Liberty Reserve"...I got nothing to say but "typical dumb fucking Americans".

My advice to Americans? Please get a map and look at it. Please try to get in contact with people from other countries and talk to them as equals and realize how screwed you are, and how better off they are and how CNN is just blatantly lying to you.

Here's my experience.

I have been watching this topic for weeks. When I finally decided to buy Bitcoins I submitted an order on the site. In the email reply I received it said rates wouldn't be locked in until a MoneyPak number was processed. So, I go to town and buy a MoneyPak, then send the number @8pm Sat. to the email specified.

After not receiving a reply, I sent a second email 25 hours after the first, app. 9pm Sunday. I hoped to at least get a response. It's now Monday at 9am and I still haven't received any response at all.

I check the thread here yet again to find out MoneyPaks are no longer accepted.

Maybe I'll eventually get the email informing me of this development, but for now all I've gotten from from BitcoinExchange is 45 hours of headache.

Now it looks like I have to find someone else willing to sell Bitcoins for MoneyPak, or find an alternate use altogether.

After reading so many people report positive experiences I expected a quick and easy trade might be possible. I'm very displeased.

@Argon
I think it's the first time I read a negative experience with BitCoinExchange but let's give the guy a chance for him to sort out some issues. I'm also a bit worried since Paypal is out of the picture for small transactions. I hope he comes up with some good news in the coming days.
