Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Same as my old folks "push to start" ferrari. The old Ford Fairlane could be push-started - and it was an automatic! It had pumps on both sides of the transmission, so that you could engage a gear without the engine running.

It had pumps on both sides of the transmission, so that you could engage a gear without the engine running. i do this with my dirtbike i push it down a hill then pop it into 1st gear and it starts up

The Fairlane had a 2 speed Powerglide, and would do 55MPH in first gear.
