at 350mhz this unit is hashing at 700GH/sec!

power consumption at XFX 850 Core Bronze+ (not modular, cheap one)

only 780W

nice Smiley

Damn, 1.111w/gh not bad.
What's the poolside hashrate like? I'm worried about the error rate of these chips, especially since there's not an easy way to see it.

Also how's the heat output of the unit? Heat sinks still staying reasonable?

I'm not home but my miner finally got to the DHL pick up place.
In all for me it took 9 days from the day I ordered & recieved
payment confirmation to receive my order. Will be glad to see
how the setup goes.

I'm also curious to know how he managed such extreme OC. (Maybe ignoring HW errors?)

I tried 330mhz but HW errors brought the hashrate down to ~280ghs. 320mhz seems to be the sweet spot for my machine giving me an additional 5-10gh without additional HW errors. (only tested 310,320,330).

stand fan blowing cold air directly at heatsinks
but chips need more juice, i got 650gh reported from pool side
better to keep at 330 and have 660 gh pool side.

any hints how to change voltage little bit?

thanks.

I ordered one last monday (this week), I'm in the UK and have it hashing right now.

I did a stupid thing, I sent payment direct from my account on an exchange.  Realising what I'd done plus the bitcoin payment address they provided seemed to had been used before I realised I had little means to prove I paid... thankfully rather than paying roughly 0.99567888 btc I simply paid 1 btc.... I emailed support straight away and within an hour or so they replied saying they had payment and it would be shipped soon.

Shipping was A-ok via DHL... in fact while it was still in hong kong I got a exercise and duty payment request... which was a fraction of what I expected to pay.

When I got the rig today I checked every step of wiring it, even used a multimeter... guess what? I wired two out the four power plugs BACKWARDS! Good news is the unit seems to be protected against this so once I corrected the problem all was OK!!!

I can confirm the unit is around 1 watt per GH/s and at stock clocks hits around 620GH/s.

This hardware combined with their customer support made it a fantastic buy.

I've even sent them a thankyou email :-)

I didn't pay attention when hooking one of mine up and somehow managed to plug in an EPS cable instead of PCIE. Luckily it did not damage the unit - no idea how i was able to do that since I thought PCIE plugs were keyed.

Correct, I'm using the four pin plugs and the +/- between the 6 pin and 4 pin plugs is reversed!! thats how I did it.

Also for the record, as I'm using 4 pin plugs on my btcgarden I can confirm that two wires carrying the current seems to be ok... so long as they are 16awg or better.

Also, I'm using two £20 LED 400w power supplies that I found on ebay... here are the ones I use.  They read 12.25v with no load and amazingly 12.25v when the miner is running!!!! great value!

I mean I've heard it takes over 30A to melt 16awg cable that's only a foot or so long. So theoretically these could run on one cable a piece but for the love of god nobody try that.

Also with regard to that PSU - 78% efficiency? That's got to be at least 120 extra watts you're pulling. Don't know what you pay for electricity but I've learned that a top-shelf PSU is key these days.

Thats good to hear btc garden.

Regarding PSU efficiency.  I was looking and 90+ PSUs were £100 !!  I suppose they are cheaper if you plan to keep upgrading your mining kit over the next few years and use the same PSU each time.... however think about it, the miners you buy today will probably be good for nothing in 4-6 months time and I'm only "playing" at this for now so I choose to buy £20 PSUs, save myself £160.... if I keep mining then that saving will be spent on extra power fair enough.... if I find myself buying new kit down the road I'll invest in efficient PSUs.

I would strongly recommend not using these. They are really terrible PSU's and will likely fail on you in short time. Hopefully they won't take out your miners with them...

Hi, I got my miners Yesterday. F..K DHL they play football with one miner and the package seems ok but when I have open it one steel panel was twisted. The card had a shock, I think, I shall look this evening more exactly. I disconnected it because it badly put on the set.
I don't know for other countrys but in France I lost my time to set up correctly.
I have 2 lines for the web  Free and Numéricable but it doesn't work.
I finally find the solution you cannot use the router for the DNS you must use the DNS of you Internet Service Provider.

The miner run  Grin

Remenber only 3 blades  Undecided  but good results.

Guys how do you can talk to the Rpi it ask for a login password ? how do you find it ?

BtcGarden I know that'is not your fault. I'll put a photography of the miner tonight.
I will buy 2 set of 4 blades soon  Grin

Really? they're that bad?  I was only trying the kit out on these but now you've got me wondering.  Is it likely the voltage will shoot up above 12v if they fail?

they are not designed for 24/7 load, and are not very efficient - probably only 70% efficiency or so at full load.  By comparison spending $150 more on a 80+ gold or better PSU would probably pay off in power savings within a few months

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

Hi I think one of the best PSU for a set of 4 is :
CORSAIR CS750M  80+ Gold
The CORSAIR CX750M can also do the job but for 24/7 et nobody at home I want no risk so I have bought the Gold 89€ (120$ ?)
Silence, allways cold.
