I'm not sure a calculator that assumes a static percentage of growth every jump is the most accurate gauge for ROI. At this point, exponential growth would be extremely difficult to sustain.

I'm not sure a calculator that assumes a static percentage of growth every jump is the most accurate gauge for ROI. At this point, exponential growth would be extremely difficult to sustain.

I find it simpler to work things out without considering difficulty, if the result is greater than 60 days it'll likely never pay off.

$430 + $75 shipping = $505 (1 BTC)
At current difficulty
BTC0.01299 - BTC0.00589 electric = BTC0.0071 per day

So 140 days to break even with NO difficulty change ever.

Also if difficulty rises 45% from it's current number then it only mines what it costs to run.

At today's exchange rate, .00578 BTC would come out to around $.192 per kWh. With that cost, you're going to have a hard time making a profit with anything. In any case, electricity is a variable expense in terms of bitcoin, so to say it will cost .00578*140 BTC to run an X2 unit for 140 days is most likely inaccurate.

Also, I'm running a free shipping promotion for 2+ units through Sunday for those in the US.

Sorry didn't notice you were selling them Smiley

I only picked $0.20 as that seems a reasonable average, people can put their own figures in, was just trying to provide a simple basepoint. I agree the exponential calculators aren't very good

I've been tempted by several of the asicminer chip machines and tubes, the prices are attractive compared to dragons etc but in the end I don't think the power consumption figures are good enough, that may not matter to some who have free or cheap electric, sadly I don't Sad

.20/kWh is rough man, you may be better off looking for a colo spot in a datacenter somewhere.

Already done that Smiley I have quite a few machines hosted in the USA for me, here in the UK it's even worse than the $0.20c I used and we get stung with 20% import tax on top

So that is a cheaper option as I save that 20% but there's not a lot of difference really. Even though the host companies there have cheap electric by the time they add on their profits with the additional costs of running a data centre and cooling etc it's back up around that level.

Anyway good luck with the sales, I'm sure the free shipping will tempt a lot of people

While I'm here... just ordered a second AM-V2 anyone have any thoughts on stacking vs not stacking and also opinions on PSU, I have  a 1300 watt Platinum PSU from EVGA that looks like it could run two of these but BTC Gardens' stated specs call for a 750 W PSU for each.
(When I first plugged my V2 in I checked and it was drawing 634 W at the wall but I haven't checked to see how much this fluctuates while mining).
I've got 4x AM-V1 which I stack. And then 2x AM-V2 which I stack. The V2 board and casing is smaller than the V1 which makes stacking of V1 and V2 not easy-peasy.

I'm using the Dell P/S sold by minersource for all of them (2x per 1.2TH). I tape the two supplies together with aluminum tape (for ductwork) and then I safety wire them to the stack. I pop-rivet the miners to stack.

It requires one raspberry pi per 8 boards. Too bad, I was planning on running a floor-to-ceiling stack with one pi LOL.

With the Dells it is drawing 1450W at the wall per 1.2TH. These things run and run. I am constantly dicking with my other miners for one reason or another and these btcgarden always sit at a consistent 1240TH. Temperature monitoring and better power efficiency would be welcome though. I've got a blower fan behind the stack.

We work with several datacenters where with loads 50KW or greater, price comes in at ~14c/kw including all fees and such.

i got 7TH in gardens (and 7Th at my friend farm) i will share myopinion.

pros

They are very well designed.
They dont care about ambient temps.
They are quiet.
They need 0 maintance.
They are stable as rocks, hashing 24h/30d.
They are very reliable, one dead board of 96 so far within 30 days.
They are not complicated, there is nothing can broke and stops whole rig from hashing.
They are stackable, u can build very high tower Smiley
Support is great, very nice people. RMA is not a problem, if they trust you they will send you first.

cons

They are not beautyfull
They have no leds so you have to look at pi leds.

if your pi dies, replace, same with dead board.

compare it to cointerra or sp Smiley

Any tips on undervolting? soon will be time to do that.

btw i have custom rig of only 2 boards sitting at my desk with 2 silent noctua fans. looks nice. Smiley

Is there any new firmware for the BTC Gardens yet?
The last I have it 7-19 and while it is ok it is still buggy.
The API is messed up as well as programs like MultiMiner can find them but they show as idle when they are running fine.
