Jesus  Shocked  Vladimir you must have like 100+ 5970s or something equivalent to put out that kind of hashing power.

Unfortunately, I have to switch to 6990's now, 5970's are too difficult to get in required quantities. Also 240 Ghps is not actual hashing capacity online right now. It is how much power I can draw from the utilities in this given DC (without major upgrades) and how much I can cool.

P.S. Though some con artists on alibaba.com are all too happy to offer 1000+ 5970's if one pays using Western Union  Angry Cheap as dirt too...

Well from what I've read the 6990s should be pretty good for mining. They have a higher TDP but given that 5970s can't be found cheaply one has no choice but to go for the 6990s.

Btw, what would you consider a fair price for a 5970? I found a few here in Canada (Ontario) selling in the $500 (CAD) range.
