I takes some time to load because I0coin has 1.3 million blocks.  Not sure if there is a way to reduce that at this time.  I0coin is based on Bitcoin so even Bitcoin will take the same time to start once its block count is at the same level.  Actually, Bitcoin may take more time since I0coin has moved much of its lesser used information out of main memory to fix the previous crashing issues.  Perhaps we can implement transaction or block pruning at some point in the future to alleviate some of the overhead.

what's this shit about? a disguised IOC?

You must be asking if I0coin (I 'zero' coin) is disguised as I/O coin.  I don't see how considering I0coin existed three YEARS before I/O coin.  I don't know why the I/O coin dev chose a name so close to ours.  It confuses a lot of people.

Look at block 1 for I0coin.  It's dated Aug 16, 2011.

I0coin's network hash rate is about 100,000 times that of I/O coin.  That's five orders of magnitude higher.  They have different algorithms and may not be directly comparable, but I0coin so out paces I/O coin that it's clear which one is more secure.

don't forget to mention that i0coin has 3-4 times the market cap of I/O coin

Hi,

something weird: I installed i0coin-qt on my Linux-box (Debian testing). Everything went okay. no problem at all. An address for receiving i0coins was created. I copied the address, entered it into a pool for getting my coins - and nothing happened. When I opened the wallet again, this address was nowhere to be found. Also in the block explorer, it can't be found. But: When I look in wallet.dat, it is there.... any idea what I did wrong?

Thanks for help!

Okay, it seems as if ./i0coin-qt --rescan did the trick. Well, at least while it is rescanning, I'm seeing my old address again :-)

Also make sure the entire block chain has been downloaded.  It may take a day since it's large.  Thanks for giving i0coin a try!

The new I0coin website url is izerocoin.org

Official website:    izerocoin.org
Forum:                izerocoin.org/forum
Wiki:                   izerocoin.org/wiki

I've been working on moving the I0coin website to the new url.  I'll be taking over management of the site from Klazzik.  All content on the website, wiki and forum has been copied.  We're just putting on the final touches.  All the accounts on the forum have been moved to the new site as well, so feel free to use your old accounts.

The old site geti0coin.com won't be updated anymore.  Go to the new site for news, links, wiki and forum posts.

Forgot to mention, the great thing about this faucet is we can vary the amount of the transaction fee.  So not only do we get more i0coin user interest with the faucet, but we also increase the fees to miners.  Currently the tx fee is set to .0005 I0C for every payout.
