Maybe he means on the chinese exchange.  I think it got much higher than that at one point when it was 1100 on US exchanges?

Wow... thats weird... is this some kind of manipulation? There was for sure a price spike (up) to 10 000 Yuan (around 1600 usd) on 26 th of may 2014 around i dont know, around 11:00 UTC...

Why i dont see it there anymore, did anybody else noticed it (on Huobi exchange, im not sure about the time frame period, but i was visible on several time frame periods i switched (1dm 15m etc.  )

wtf is that? why it isnt recorded?

I wonder if Huobi & BTC China also used or still using some kind of a Willy bot (ref: http://willyreport.wordpress.com) for price manipulation.

Speculative Thought: That BOT may be under the control of Chinese Govt rather than Huobi & BTC China !!! Because I heard they controlled the Google data servers inside the geographical territory of China and thereby made Baidu.com the no. 1 Chinese search engine.

Last year someone did pay $3600 per bitcoin (however GoXBTC is dead now).

Every single chinese speculator who bought bitcoins at any price is sitting on profits, some of them massive profits.

100% of them!!!

Except the trading noooooooob on GoXBTC who paid 22,213 yuan per BTC or $3,600!

https://www.goxbtc.com/

What the actual fuck.

Look its obviously a quote error. It happens all the time on the exchanges. Usually after a few hours it will get fixed because it messed up the charts.

A spike of 1600 USD is for sure a glitch, how can be eaten all the sell wall in that price range?
It's impossible in my opinion.

It doesnt have to be a glitch but I think he'd have to buy up the whole sell order book, how much is that?  Must be 1000 btc on there to sell, so its extremely unlikely outside of millionaires fleeing a country or the Fed going broke, some major world event, etc.

Ive traded on exchanges that had no matching so you could make the price appear higher just by forcing a sale at a certain price.  Most of them dont allow that though
