If a PM is deleted is there a backup of it somewhere that say Theymos could restore or access?

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

As far as I know, yes. Theymos can access deleted messages. If I remember right, this was asked by someone long time ago but don't count on this.

Yes, but only admins, not moderators. They can see all edits and deletions and all history.

If both sender and recipient of a PM deletes it, then it's deleted from the database completely and I can't access it except through the daily database backups. (This is a massive pain, so don't expect me to do it for you...)

Deleted/edited posts are always saved forever.

I personally don't mind that PMs are somewhat still accessible after being deleted, because most of the sensitive information isn't exchanged on a public forums's PM service.

This however is very interesting, knowing everything is saved forever. Especially scammers that can't get away by deleting/editing their posts and threads.
