Getting credit of shares on GHash

Hi all,

I'm a newbie here, interested on the Bitcoin topic, so I tried to experience the full cycle of it and mine a bit. I bought an Antminer U2. I know that I'm not going to get much of it, at roughly 1.6Gh/s but as I said, I wanted to try it for fun.

I configured drivers, etc, and have cgminer running. I get what I consider a normal log that I paste below, but after 6 hours, I can't see anything new in my GHash.IO user panel. That is, my speed is always 0 Gh/s, 0 shares, and 0% rejected.

I'm not sure if I should wait more for the panel to update, or calculations to finish, but I'd like to know if I am doing anything wrong. Hopefully I posted in the right subforum.

Any advise is appreciated. Thanks!

For starters that device isn't supported by the older cgminer so it's barely working thinking it's a different device. Latest cgminer is 4.3.4, upgrade. Nonetheless I dont think that's your ghash problem.

Take a screen shot of your workers page. You probably have a ton of dup shares. Your difficulty setting of 16 is way to high. Change it to 1 and see how that goes.

Thanks for your answers. As I said, I am a newbie to Bitcoin (and first time I mine), so it is easy to make mistakes.

@ckolivas : you are right. I just followed old instructions with old links. I updated cgminer. It makes sense that you made such an effort developing new versions, so people should take care of that. BTW, thanks for your work on it.

@xZork : Workers chart is empty for me. As far as I can understand, the difficulty is set by the pool. As I am using GHash.io , I can't see how I can change this. Would you suggest to change mining pool?

So I upgraded cgminer, and same result. I installed all this stuff in a different computer. Same again. I double checked I use the right user name.

I use the following command line :

Make sure you are using your user name with a dot and then the worker name like:

user.worker

Don't use .ghash as your worker name.

I know GHash used to start diff at 512 and it was harder to get a share so you could go to their interface and modify the share difficulty down. You are getting shares though, so I suspect the above may be the issue.

I had read about workers, but I thought it was optional, in case you wanted to distinguish between different miners.
