I was active in some of the politics forums a few years ago. Every single Pole I met there was rabidly anti-Russian. I am simply not ready to believe that anything has changed in a matter of 2-3 years.

1) Is was right after the First Great Fatherland War, right after Poland had plans of dismembering Western Russia into separate counties, reporting to the Poland. The tables were turned. Poland gets a new Constitution, yet it retain much of its autonomy, with its own Seim and government. So there was no disregard, just a hallmark of new times.

2) Germans and Austrians had equally big stakes in Poland, yet for some reason it's always Russia that is the enemy...

3) Let's call it a pay-back for 1605-1618, 1812 and 1919. But honestly, a lot of history can be downside when trying to build new relations. We need a Koom Valley accord here.

4) There was no more interference from the Warsaw Pact countries then as there is interference from NATO countries now. Same business model. And Poles threw off Soviet Union domination in 1989. Russians had to wait 3 more years for that.

There are many Poles that still remember how the Ukrainian nazis massacred Poles in Western Ukraine in 1941-1943. Some Poles decided to travel to Donetsk to fight against the Ukrainian fascism.
