You have to name the config file MammothCoin.conf

Mine is named MammothCoin.conf , and it's in ~/.MammothCoin directory, which should be the default location/name, but even if I try to use a different location/name by specifying -conf=/location/name.conf that also doesn't work.

Try renaming it Mammothcoin.conf, it`s case sensitive!

Just delete all, download the wallet from the second link, create Mammothcoin.conf, name exactly like here, with no other command lines in it excepting addnode!

Well , with elephants coin going extinct we've got a new try with mammothcoin....

Wonder how much will this one last.

It's all a matter of perspective. Just realize this coin will only be mined for a while. The POW will end in... what, 60 days? At that point you should see the price increase by quite a bit. However, it's up to the community to promote it and get it accepted before this time comes. Otherwise, it to will go extinct.
