Hi,

I've made new pool for Datacoin.

Resources:
http://datacoin.info/index.php?id=index
http://coinwik.org/Datacoin
https://www.facebook.com/datacoin

Info thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=325735.1360
Pool is designed for ATI GPUs and uses madmax's XPM miner (fastest primecoin miner available).

You can get miner here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=602292.0

New version 8.1 (TARGET 9) http://graymines.net/miners/dtcclient_v81.zip

Version 9.4.1 (added 2015-01-26): http://graymines.net/miners/datacoin/dtcclient_v9.4.1.zip

In miner's config.txt use:

NEW POOL (beta) dtc.graymines.net, port 4444, with new frontend, http://dtc.graymines.net

Pool will send coins to your datacoin address in 10 DTC packs, when they have "mature" status in network. With GPUs that will be faster than you think :-D

Sample miner working:

Work received: height=339420 diff=9.7432844 latency=32ms
GPU 0 found share: 7-ch type 2
GPU 0 found share: 8-ch type 2
Share accepted.
Share accepted.

Use on your own risk, but I made it to mine there myself and shared with great crypto community :-D

Good luck and have fun!

Marcus.

Well, I didnt have time to make few hours tests and count what both kernels can find.
But funny is 9-target kernel found some 10 and 11-ch shares too.
On first sight difference is in showing stats, 9-target reports speed for 9-difficulty. So its mess on pool, when all is mixed, but I'll work on it.

edit:

BTW, my fastest 270X kernel: http://1drv.ms/T8ft1Z

can you make kernel for 7970/280x too?

I tried the latest kernel (recompiled for the 290x) and it seems to work rather well (more 8 and 9 chain than the other one)
My only problem, as posted on the other thread, is the temp of the card which is around 84°C
(won't post any cpd, as I am running on slimcoin at the same time, would be irrelevant)

DTC difficulty do not change much, but this pool earning reduce 30%, I guess pool owner adjust pool fee to 30% or higher.

No, its 30% just for you :-D

For rest of users fee is default hardcoded.

Update 2014-06-03:
Changed share payouts, so you dear users get good reward for finding 10-ch shares, so you are instant winners :-)

Ok, I see it. But why do this modification? 10ch is waste of computing power for DTC, 9ch
is more efficient. Encourage miner change to 10ch kernel.bin will reduce total pool findings.

No, I've used 9-ch kernels and they find 10 and even 11-chains. So its nice bonus :-D

What about r9 280x speed? my rig shows 4 cpd for r9 280x. Is it normal? I saw that eXtremal released a patch v4 and reaches 8 cpd for r9 290x. That means r9 280x can give ~6cpd (IMHO)... but when I replace kernel it shows errors... May be I'm noob...

It will be when block is confirmed (DTC network has 3000 confirms AFAIR), then coins get "mature" status and can be paid.

Strange errors started to appear, futher investigation on the way.

Before every crash latency was reaching > 3000ms, looks like ddos some kind :-P

Well, I'm shutting the pool down for now.
No one is mining. All coins will go to their owners when they will become mature.

Pool maintaince atm.

edit:

it seems there were some problems with DTC network, or at least pool linking to DTC network, which is very little at all.
Most of blocks mined from 2014-08-16 were scanned as orphans somehow.

We dont have working block explorer, so I cant check what really happened.
I've made new wallet, old was over 50MB in size, and pool started few minutes loading it.
I'll try to load old wallet on other machine in few days to get matured coins (if any no-orphans at all) and move them to new one.
Your coin payouts are in database and are safe.

Futher investigation goes on :-P

Looking at the posts the pool seems to be buggy.

The profit does not seem promising either.

Well, all was working fine, until last weekend, where most of blocks were marked as orphans.
I'm looking for solution. Any ideas?

I don't know if it is good news, but SOME of new foun blocks are not orphans :-D
All of that coins go to payout FIFO, so you can mine :-P

And about solo... what makes you think that block you find solo wont be orphaned?

I've made some database checkout, in link below are all valid (non-orphaned) block found by pool from 10th Aug. (live update)

http://92.222.24.57/dtctest/tblocks.php

So probably no payout for you... and I'm deep in shit, pool counted all bad blocks as good :-P

Maybe. But 2 facts deny it somehow:
- pool was working fine before
- I rescanned wallet with normal coin daemon and balances didnt change.

Yes, pool still finds only orphan blocks. I'm on start to build new engine from wallet source. Will inform you.
Now you have miner ready to connect to xpm.graymines.net, pool is working, I've mined 3 blocks in weekend to check it, payments came to my wallet after maturing...

And there is block explorer for XPM...

For me its more like...
Pool is connected to 20 or more nodes which aren't even at top of blockchain, dont know REAL last block, we mine something, then some other part of network (with big miners) connects to it / after restart pool connects to other nodes, pool thinks that whole work is bad, so shows orphans. LOL. Its logical that this started after gpool shutdown, where 2000+ miners were disconnected.

your pool found block haven't bonus?

Pool fee is 5%

btw, there was long chain of bad blocks, I had to --reindex whole chain again.
Some blocks from before that were all good, so payouts started.

You guys plz post addressess of yours if you want, there will be some reward for your help in testing :-)

Can you do somethink with disconnecting nodes?

Actually I did.

Max connections from standard 8 is increased to 200 ;-)
There is xpm pool working on very same code (nobody mines there lol), connection number there is getting 100+ in few minutes, in DTC network after few hours max is 20-30.
And even then it looks that something tells network after long time 'your blocks are bad'.
I've run DTC wallets on other machines, they synchro when pool finds blocks.
I don't know what more I can do yet.

OK, really WTF? We have http://www.bytestamp.net/blocks/index block explorer, right?

Look at those 2 images:
 http://graymines.net/upload/dtc-be_494986a.png before
http://graymines.net/upload/dtc-be_494986b.png after
some time, when good blocks on pool changed on bad blocks.
Even in block explorer blocks change.

1st I've checked when I saw info there is block explorer, left page opened few hours when I was busy in work,
now I checked same blocks again.... hashes differ. Even in block explorer hashes changed. Really? LOL.

How my pool can trust ANY blockchain source?Huh
How any miner can mine if ANY time blockchain can change without any known reason?

Because the blockchain source is the same.

I have in my datacoin.conf:

Code:
addnode = <IP address of graymines.net>

Now I removed it.

Let's wait few days and see what happens.

Thank you.

yes, delete peer.dat and delete  addnode in datacoin.conf file ,then reindex again

Did that few times.
Not even that, downloaded whole blockchain leaving only wallet and config without peers.dat.

Besides I had old pool under other IP, and I've set this pool clean of any nodes.

Besides, with 20-40 nodes connected all time how it can even happen? -.-

But...

Are you sure this is an error?

In Datacoin there are not huge mining pools, we only have several solo miners.

Now I think this happens:

1) miner A resolves block 496187 at  2014-09-16 01:01:00 UTC
2) miner A resolves block 496188 at  2014-09-16 01:05:56 UTC
3) miner B resolves block 496187 at  2014-09-16 01:10:42 UTC
4) miner B resolves block 496188 at  2014-09-16 01:17:42 UTC

5) miner A gets orphaned block 496187 while its block 496188 is good
6) miner B gets orphaned block 496188 while its block 496187 is good

Because I *think* that the time on the block is set when the block is resolved

BTW, I just did an update to Bytest@mp block explorer.

Now, when you click on block details, at the bottom there is the link "Block History".

This returns the block's contents for the first 10-12 confirmations  Wink

Of course it does not have data for older blocks.

Hope it helps.

Thanks

I understand your point.
But...
Those are not 1-2 orphaned blocks, whose network correct in 5 minutes.
Those are series of 100+ blocks, they are marked orphans/non-existant after few hours, with 100+ confirmations.
If my miners find bad block, network correct it in short time, give correct blockchain, that would be great.
But they mine, mine and mine, and then oh, it was just waste of electricity.
That doesn't happen with 2-3 nodes connected, but with 20-30 or more. Its not connected with wooden modem, but with 1Gb/s symetrical transfer.
I can give you listing of all blocks mined by pool from start if you want.

Next solid argument is that I've made fresh private pool from start (without adding main pool as node) connected single miner to it. Miner found block, that same block wasnt mined by main pool (pool saw it mined somewhere else). So... how could you explain that?
If there is 'bad node' somewhere, what about every other node?

179-187 utc time large then 188,  maybe some pool link to some shit node or peer
[/quote   your wallet can synchronization??
yes, delete peer.dat and delete  addnode in datacoin.conf file ,then reindex again

This coin is died. Someone is fucking network, I think I already know how to do it. But why this bullshit do so, main exchange site bter will stop trading DTC soon, all people can't get profit then.

If there is 'bad node' somewhere, what about every other node?

The last orphan block is 496971.
Now if you see its history, I did never receive your hash (6c71aed003a5cd5eaa9cc5b0c0d24a206b8a8478beee0796a1b60ce758698358). So this block was orphan from beginning.

Let's wait until a block with lots of confirmations becomes orphan, then from its history on ByteSt@mp  we can understand something else.

Btw, you already know the answer:

Things start to clean. When big Chinese mine connects we have synchro, then it disconnects, mines at faster rate than pool is, and when connects again, network takes higher block height and we loose blocks mined between.

If I have 2000 nodes in my private network and I mine having it disconnected from Internet, when I connect it to Internet you are on the shortest blockchain branch with only 30 nodes and you lose your blocks. Also block explorer moves on the longest blockchain branch.

Maybe this is the why Bter disabled DTC withdrawals.

And about the fresh private pool... could your main pool  be the 'bad node'?
Because you say

Besides I had old pool under other IP, and I've set this pool clean of any nodes.

... I would wait if on this new pool happens that blocks with 100+ confirmations become orphan.

Because what is already happened (blocks 496187 and 496188) is a "normal" orphan block.

BTW, we need miners. A lot of miners. What about setting up also a CPU mining pool?

You could catch all ex miners of Gpool. So no more solo miners, and no more orphan blocks for you.

Thanks

I had pool which was runnig fine, as i remember from 2014-05 to 2014-08.
Then without any reason I could find :-) it started to go bad.
Then I made new pool (called post before) main pool.
And then new-mini-pool just to check if main pool sees blocks mined by others.

Well, I've made orphaned block. Ok.
But why I don't  receive info that it is orphaned from rest of nodes connected in short time?
So... me and rest of nodes connected to me, all think that we are in good chain? Why shouldn't we?
And then big fish which don't even care, connect to me with 2000 nodes, more blocks mined, even after a week, and get all the reward?
Thats terrible idea of network. That is broken network and nothing else.

Primecoin network is monopolised by ypool.
And somehow when my xpm pool mined blocks all were good.

Sure, you can call my pool 'bad node'. So what can I do about it? Download whole blockchain again and don't mine any blocks, because in future when some biiiiig mine connects I'll get all my work worth nothing?

Storj here. MarcusDe you want to get together with the blockchain explorer guy, and do some looking around? I think we just need to decide on a good chain, and then send a ton of miners there.

I am not saying you are wrong, I am only trying to explain what is happening.

The ypool monopoly of primecoin is a bad thing, but it gives you a safe blockchain. With datacoin there is no monopoly, but the blockchain cannot be reliable. It's the price of freedom.

On windows each .exe just runs, on linux you have to compile. It's the price of freedom, too.

But I am seeing you have no more yet orphaned blocks with 100+ confirmations, isn't it?

I am studying your blocks and now your block hashes are the same of mine, but the block time is not.

Do you write the "time" field of the getblock output (like me) ? Or is it the time your pool found the block?

Could you write anywhere on your site what is the current mining block?

Last thing, could I have your peers? (getpeerinfo) I think we should have same peers.

Storj here. MarcusDe you want to get together with the blockchain explorer guy, and do some looking around? I think we just need to decide on a good chain, and then send a ton of miners there.

Yes.
For this reason I suggested MarcusDe to develop also a CPU mining pool, as you can read some posts before.
If a lot of peoples begin mining on graymines, MarcusDe blockchain becomes the longest branch and he will not get  orphan blocks.
But the problem of doing this is

"and then send a ton of miners there "

Where do we find them?

Thank you.

Thanks

@sampei7777

I've collected some peer info few times, also added nodes I connect on start (taken from most stable peers anyway)

http://graymines.net/upload/peers0919.tgz

Futher info about your questions will come :-)

Yes, I see pool's blocks became "stable" now, with very low hashrate on pool.

edit: added block # to live shares info on payouts/ page.

Block explorer is rebuilding from block 430000.

I hope there was no network issue before block 430000.

While rebuilding it may be not updated to the latest blocks.

It should take 3-4 days.

BTW, look at this:

Code:

it was taken at 9:05 UTC.

So it looks like someone is solving blocks with the computer time five minutes ahead. Blocks from graymines (eg 502743) seems to be OK.

1st backup your wallet :-)

Then try adding nodes manually:
in wallet window go help -> debug window -> console
then you can type:

addnode graymines.net:4777 add

I hope this coin is further developed in the near future.
I like the name and the potential features.
On Btrex I buy some for future profit!
How can we get live into this community?
I liked CPU mining of this coin from http://dtc.xpool.xram.co/
Can enyone start that up again?

I hope this coin is further developed in the near future.
I like the name and the potential features.
On Btrex I buy some for future profit!
How can we get live into this community?
I liked CPU mining of this coin from http://dtc.xpool.xram.co/
Can enyone start that up again?
Who is managing the site? http://datacoin.info

the website maybe operate by lovecraftian now and you can pm him for the details
also maxsolnc can be contacted

I just got set up with this pool earlier today after switching from XPM for difficulty/roi trial comparison. Rewards and payouts seem to be working fine. What is going on with Bter? Are they delisting it? Are there any other exchanges that trade datacoin?

http://dtc.graymines.net/index.php?id=blocks still up, it costs me 60$/month so I will move it to much cheaper server before and of 2014.

Well, I see alot of power added to network last days (solo or other mine) :-)

Good for DTC!

Please guys contact bter or other exchanges, we have to make noise to be listened!
Without exchange DTC is dead :-/

Yea, DTC network is so funny, , look at timestamps for those blocks -.-.

Reverse, blocks were marked orphans, I restarted it :-)
After restart, before pool calculates stuff, stats show 0s.

Anyway, CPU pool almost done.

Strange things happen, 1000+ chains of blocks get disconnected and marked orphaned.
I'm gonna re-download whole blockchain, set new wallet, reset database etc.
All funds you have unpaid from pool will be sent to you from my personal wallet this weekend.
Will tell you guys when gpu pool is up again.

Well maybe because of that:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=325735.msg10327372#msg10327372
Next block 3h later in block explorer?
Same time I've sent 1k dtc to bter, it arrived today morning...

I've put fresh node of clean datacoind on another server as reference and watched as it downloads blocks... what a massacre, from like #250k 1000 blocks, then back because 500 seems orphaned, then again same story. After 1 day in finished, with same #block and hash as on block explorer and pool (and I never added pool to addnode=).

hello
why the pool itself takes 50% of earnings ?
On BALANCE 40 coins and 40 coins = REQUESTED must be 80 coins in your purse
And in fact, in a purse falls 40 coins and 40 coins on BALANCE burn, the pool itself takes
Why so ?

Yes, I've noticed that too.
There was period when no one mined, so dynamic values of share were zero ;-)
I've changed algo a little so it take shares from whole day if I remeber correctly, should be fine now.

Nope, I just changed pool wallet to new, old was many MB in size.
Also gave you all miners 1000 DTC bonus for that :-)

Hope you enjoy :-D

PS. I don't check pool every hour, it could be down some time... after hosting service provider restarts VPS :-P

Hi,

I've made new pool for Datacoin.

Resources:
http://datacoin.info/index.php?id=index
http://coinwik.org/Datacoin
https://www.facebook.com/datacoin

Info thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=325735.1360
Pool is designed for ATI GPUs and uses madmax's XPM miner (fastest primecoin miner available).

You can get miner here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=602292.0

New version 8.1 (TARGET 9) http://graymines.net/miners/dtcclient_v81.zip

Version 9.4.1 (added 2015-01-26): http://graymines.net/miners/datacoin/dtcclient_v9.4.1.zip

In miner's config.txt use:

NEW POOL (beta) dtc.graymines.net, port 4444, with new frontend, http://dtc.graymines.net

Pool will send coins to your datacoin address in 10 DTC packs, when they have "mature" status in network. With GPUs that will be faster than you think :-D

Sample miner working:

Work received: height=339420 diff=9.7432844 latency=32ms
GPU 0 found share: 7-ch type 2
GPU 0 found share: 8-ch type 2
Share accepted.
Share accepted.

Use on your own risk, but I made it to mine there myself and shared with great crypto community :-D

Good luck and have fun!

Marcus.

Thank you for the data Cheesy
Is this your pool?
Working great Smiley

We need Datacoin to be fully-functional for the Blockchain revolution.

ByteStamp is based on DTC BlockChain

Hello,

ByteStamp is definitely nifty and was useful with a projection for the 2017 French election.

Anybody here been mining with Gigo's fork and seeing a lower chain per day?
I gave it a try earlier today and noticed only 1/3 of the work being done compared to the chain/d value from the original datacoin-hp client.

Best Regards,
-Chicago

Pool  dtc.graymines.net  SCAM

I've been on a break from financial hobbies since the pandemic started and I came here today just to tell you I think you're wrong.
Also, scam accusations need to have some substance and details which are of empirical value.

How long did you mine?
How long did you wait for the reward to mature?
How do you know you were scammed?

Dear users!
Mine is shut down, hopefully temporarily.
There was a problem, somehow you managed to "dig" about 200k more DTC than was actually dug.
With the funds that have now appeared manual withdrawals have been made for some of you based on balances from the database.
Another problem is that the transactions from the backup wallet do not go online and are not confirmed, so you cannot get the rest.

Please wait patiently for an update.

These are withdrawals made manually, based on the balance from the database.
The mine has no more funds available for withdrawals.
As soon as I manage to transfer the funds from the backup wallet, the rest will be paid out.

PS.
Please bear in mind that I very rarely look at the forum and read your messages.
Especially that the mine has existed for a couple of years, I maintain it charitably at my own expense so that the project does not collapse - as we all know DTC have no value nowadays.
