i doubt there are fpga for x13 already, come on it would be insane..., the x13 mania just started two days ago

one 280x can do 2.5M on x13, reaching 50 giga with those cards is not that crazy as you think

50 giga are like 20k 280x, 200 big farmers with 100 cards each is quite easy to achieve

the real problem are those big farms, that keeps adding gpu because they can make roi for each new rig very fast

I'm 99.99% sure there are bitstreams for FPGA's already (not ASICs!) as there were already some for X11.. X13 is nothing more than
X11 plus two algo's, MaruCoin is quite old already, so the devs had plenty of time rewriting the bistream.

In my opinion there is no FPGA on X13 atm.  There wasn't a succesful coin yet.
But soon there will be FPGA for all algos for GPU.

what gpu hardware or FGPA can mine 4 or 6 GH/s on x13 coins?

http://cloak.shockpools.com dev leave this pool from op
no email for cash out  Angry

ok someone clue me in where are these new GPU farms comming from ? I though the scrypt price crash and summer time heating costs would force alot out of the GPU game and with X13 you cant even mine with Nvida cards yet.

These have to be botnets or huge cpu farms or something ?

Id bet anything it's the same x11 FPGA farms.  You really think x13 has confounded these guys?  It was only a matter of time.

Maybe GPU coins should use that momentum PoW whatever like PTS and NRS.  As far as I know, that is still GPU/CPU only.

X13 is dead for "normal" miners already.. unfortunately...

you mean broke miners.

You need to pay to play nowadays. I don`t own a farm but I had to rent 330mhash for this coin, and I paid top dollar. Someone is on suprnova with 4ghash, it makes my 330mhash look like a single 6950.

Sorry kids, its a big boys game now, evolve or die.

This is the point..

Coins should switch algo's to PREVENT FPGA's mining the shit out of the coins.. This only happens as all the dev's simply clone one coin from the other..

Why not use Groestl, or a modified Keccak (SHA-3) algo where there is no FPGA-Bistream ... This way small time miners would also have a chance without investing or renting rigs...

Modifying the algo is really not that hard, it would at least last for one coin.. The big miners will adapt soon, but that is no problem if every (2nd) coin changes the algo again...

+1000

would love to see more coins like this instead of easy clones.

I've currently got an display issue @ the pool where hashrate seems to drop out, this is just a display issue, your hashrate is fine over all the time. I've introduced some memcache patches which should lower the load on the server, this is probably the error. I'm fixing this currently, don't worry, your rigs are stable and running fine.

That is currently a Frontend issue, your miner should always Display the correct hashrate. It's only a cosmetic Bug

Fixing this as soon as i got some time to restart the crons

Dev, could you explain it in more detail how does this "anonymous via exchange" work?
If you don't want go into the technical details, that's fine. But could you at least use plain English and a few examples to articulate how it works?

It sounds like you are using exchange sites as mixers.
But who decides which sites will be the mixers? 1: The Dev, 2: the exchange sites themselves, or 3: the network itself?
If 1, so DEV has the ability to choose who get to be an mixer?
If 2, so what makes an exchange site different than other individuals, they are all just bunch of coin addresses, plus anyone can open up a website to make it an "exchange".
If 3(the best), how does the network differentiate which address is an exchange?

Regardless 1,2,or 3, this model is solely based on the trust of the exchange sites that they will do the coin mixing/forwarding process correctly, honestly, and promptly.
This is VERY BAD for the coin because the survival and prosperity relies on the functionalities of various exchange sites, which we all know can open and close overnight, not to mention DDoS, and all other security or functionality issues.

Even only reputable and large exchange sites are selected as mixers, there is no guarantee they will function and honest forever.
I think the anon feature needs to be built into the coin and have the network enforcing itself, otherwise there could be huge amount of potential issues, issues that can kill the coin overnight.

Also, you said "Main advantage of using exchanges for anonymity: Hundreds more transactions going into an exchange than a node, some of these tx take weeks to come out."

This simply means CLOAK will only have FEWER mixers, because there are not like a 100 exchange sites out there.
But this can be so easily done by any anon coins. For example DRK, by increasing the 1000DRK requirement holding in the wallet in order to qualify for a masternode, they can just increase it to 10K DRK to reduce the number of mixers.

How CLOAK prevent this?

Good questions.

Full details will be laid out for everybody to analyse (as much as they like) tomorrow evening / night time at European time zone.
