Haha I admit that is a bit true in itself, but at least your bag has an increasing merchant adoption rate and a fixed supply of units.
On the other hand it is a tad more volatile but it works well enough and has a nice dev team unlike the fiat system Smiley

And you really hold your bag.
And you can make it very, very hard to steal.
So it's the best kind of bagholding Smiley

2095 will reach 50k
wont edit this post as i will be dead on that time lol

Are you sure that the US Dollar will not become extinct before that date? It will be better to measure the value of Bitcoin in gold or some other form of wealth than measuring it in the US Dollar. Let's say that in 2095, 1BTC will be equal to 1kg of gold.  Grin

but in 2095 gold may be considered a completely worthless entity....just like sea shells used to be the most valuable traded currency in ancient times..

so maybe in 2095 1 btc will be worth 1 litre of pure water  Smiley

Gold has been around for thousands of years...
But no one knows for sure how much there is above or below earth surface.
Also, every bar or coin is suspect to counterfeit. You never know for sure if there is no tungsten inside.
300 years ago they were not able to put tungsten inside gold, now they are. So 5000 years doesn't mean that much anymore.

With bitcoin, we do not need to worry about supply and counterfeits anymore.

But, in case bitcoin fails, gold and silver will take it's role again, temporarily.
I think there will be a big dent in crypto when bitcoin fails.

It's always good to diversify your holdings. Imho gold and silver are always better than FIAT at the current moment.

We all kick our head, except Satoshi because he was the first.
Don't worry, you are still an early adopter.
There are *loads* of people looking at bitcoin in fear of missing the train. I know a few.
They will capitulate, when BTC reaches much higher levels.
Then, they will provide you with goods and services, and you will pay in BTC.

Welcome to Bitcoin Smiley

Don't kick yourself; it would have been worse if you'd bought last Nov & paid $1200 a coin. Just think - you got almost twice as many BTC for your money as people who bought back then Smiley

That's the worst scenario I can imagine.

Considering it's where many newbies who hadn't done any research were gaily steered to by various websites, I'm guessing it probably did happen to more than a few.

Does anyone realistically think that Bitcoin will ever reach $50k? Don't get me wrong, I'd be more than happy if it reach even 1 zillion but...

I've watched it go from .01 to .1 to 1 to 10 to 100 to 1000. I think we can all agree that Bitcoin is far from everywhere, so the next step to 10,000 is almost assured. After that, we're just half a step away from 50k. The odds of that happening are pretty good!

I hope you are correct. If it happens I'll tip you BTC0.1 ($5000).  Smiley

Usually on those threads more than 50% of the messages are negative; last week on this thread almost all messages are really positive, does that tell us we are getting there?

Never.
50000$ is faaar to much.
21M * 50000$ = 1*10^12$ = 1 000 BILLIONS DOLLARS.

5000$ is max.

edit: the only way is to destroy 20M bitcoins )) other 1M become priceless ^_^

If BTC hits 50k, what do you think the price of gold and silver would be at? How about gas or milk? I think we'd be living in some pretty fucked up times unfortunately.
Well if it happens in coming handful of years (as it probably will do) then the price of gold/silver will probably be pretty much as it is now relative to dollars, but compared to bitcoin they will have devalued hugely! Deflation is a strange concept to get your head around, things getting cheaper, the human brain is far more conditioned to price increases.
