I don't know, but I personally think It would be referral spam If there wouldn't be alternative without a referral link but you can choose between referral and not referral link. As far as I know If you post on topic link with Referral It isn't a ref spam but I don't know If you post as a commentator or original post creator. In this situation I wouldn't call It as a referral spam but mods or admins decide this.

No, because the ref links are not the sole purpose of the post.

There is much more than just links

Hello everybody !
In this post I'll talk about ways to earn bitcoin (or satochis  Cheesy )

I know bitcoins since 2010 and I have mined a bit at the time, but I still made some faucets and Paid-to-Click.
Now at the time, I think faucets were a bit more generous.
In my opinion, the main difference between today and a few years ago is that before faucets were maintained by generous people trying to get community (or newbies) involved in Bitcoin world.
Now faucets are a new business, there is no more donations to faucets, because their main motivation is profit. Maybe that was also caused my faucet's members who abused the system (with bots and/or botnets). Well at the end, faucets give now a much little reward.

A few weeks ago, my wallet was hacked, and someone stole the coins I made mining. I lost some money in the process, but I got what I deserved, I should have secured them better.

So I am now back in the start.

I tried to make some money with faucets, but most of them are useless, they have pages loaded with ads and have an anoying difficult captcha (I have to try 2 or even 3 times sometimes).

So I looked for other methods, but as you know there is no miracle. All ways are tough and annoying, but I managed to make a few mBTC in a few days without much work (but it required many time  Grin )

-snip-
The last one is the most important in my opinion, this site offers the possibility to do some tasks and they pay you for each task you do. It's boring and repetitive, but you can make much more doing this than going to every faucet and type captchas.

Faucets gives a average of 100 satoshis that is a fraction of a cent (0.0007$) and requires an average of 1 minute.
By doing tasks I make 5000 satochis for 3-4 minutes that is 1250 per minute. So it's 12 times more profitable.
I still do the faucets I listed for fun, but I don't expect (or earn) anything significant with it.

Don't lose your time !

I have seen people post referral links in both topics and regular posts.

One instance I saw was a topic which was created solely to refer people to a particular site - I reported this and it was subsequently dealt with.

Another instance was when somebody else reported a post for containing a referral link. Their report was declined on the basis that their link was actually answering a question for the OP.

Ultimately, as shorena has already addressed, you have to ask yourself - was the topic made purely for the referral link. That will help you preserve your success rate. Having said this, it is better for the community that people report such cases if they are in doubt s that a moderator can take action if necessary.

I also reported that thread but don't think I got a bad report for it. Maybe it was just marked as 'handled'.

No, because the ref links are not the sole purpose of the post.

There is much more than just links

I'd say the ref links are the sole purpose of that thread. It was created entirely to attempt to share them.

As above, I'd say this meets the criteria regardless of padding a bit of a story around it.

Well yeah, that thread features both referral links and non-referral link version. The fact that he included both, and put the referral link version firsts is clearly indicative that he wants to get conversions, but the padding probably justifies it.

Thanks and now I'm confused which thread I have reported wrong again that my accuracy has dropped to 95% ? Yesterday there were 3-4 threads complaining blockchain.info problem as blockchain problem. I reported 2 of them and I dont see them in the discussion section any more. So, I guess, I got correct report there too. All in all I have 2 or 3 bad report out of which 1 theymos has already stated. Which are the other 1 or 2 ?

Will BitCoinDream's report be marked as successful then? I suppose the OP of the topic in question shouldn't mind too much as his topic loses no value from their removal.

Unfortunately no. Once a report has been marked as a bad one, it can't be changed.

Theymos would be able to change it as a 'good' report if he wanted too.  But, I don't think people care all that much about report success to trouble Theymos.

Lately, I am seeing a new kind of referral everywhere across the board. Some people, who call themself ANX Trusted Forum Manager, are posting it in different forum replies. Here is an example...

Buying bitcoin is itself an investment and the most secure, most investments inside bitcoin are scams, btcjam has defaulted many loans so be cautious and just buy more bitcoins ANXPRO

I think their posts are constructive and contextual. So, should we report this kind of a link as referral spam ?

I did not say SPAM. I said REFERRAL SPAM. 2 are different. SPAM is deleted, REFERRAL SPAM is edited.

I think they should be reported.  I'm also not a huge fan of them using a URL shortening service, it just throws up red flags for me.

I dont want to decrease my accuracy, which is already down to 97%. So before reporting, I want to know the exact forum rule from the mods.

That is an awful reason to not report things!  Having a higher accuracy does nothing for you.  It's better to report more things and have a lower accuracy than to report less and have a higher one, the former is going to lead to more actions by mods.

Also, some things do not have set rules so it's going to be up to the mod who's looking at the report.

Do you really care that much about accuracy?  Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh
