I do smoke, yes. Not too much -- about 5-6 per day on weekdays (at work and on the commute). I generally don't smoke on the weekends -- perhaps one if I'm drinking. If I didn't work a shitty full time job, I might have the will to quit. Undecided

At the least, I try to smoke natural, additive-free tobacco. If not hand rolling, I smoke these:

E-cigs never did it for me. Vapor just doesn't feel the same. I do like vaporizing cannabis, and surprisingly it actually hits the spot most of the time. But e-cigs just never satisfied.

yeah i tried e-cigs, i remember them working for a time, but then i just said "fuck it, i'm getting a cigarette." it's also a pain in the ass having to maintain the cartridges, and i often had to buy new ones after using them for a few days. so it ended up costing more than cigs.

i used to smoke a lot and for a long time, like 20-30 a day. i managed to overcome my addiction and signed up for martial arts to stop gaining weight and basically not turning in to a fat blob Smiley no offence to others..(or no offense in US).

declined?..nah, i was munching through like 2kg of sweets everyday  Grin

Hell no. I've not even been tempted to try either.

Working out at the gym is hard enough as it is without having wheezing lungs, so definitely want to avoid the symptoms of smoking.

e-Cigarettes are proving to be very popular, particularly within the office environment.

In LA and elsewhere, they are banning e-cigarettes for indoor use, except in very limited cases. This is probably a good thing, because they are very new, and that secondhand "vapor" is completely safe is not at all proven.

It's a good, safe move. There are a few people in our office that smoke theirs very frequently. It doesn't bother me a great deal as I'm usually not in their vicinity and the office is open plan.

Worst case scenario will be people hanging by the doorway outside with the regular smokers lol.

Why do you suppose kids smoke? Do you suppose its because they create a vin diagram and carefully laid out all of the pros and cons? Obviously not. Its obvious to anyone halfway reasonable that the reason kids smoke is because they aren't supposed to. Its the only rational explanation since smoking its self isnt rational without adding that consideration. You know cocaine used to be totally legal for anyone to buy. A 5 year old could buy as much of it as he wanted. Did we have a cocain epidemic when it was legal for anyone including kids to buy? absolutely not. The moment cocaine addiction began to appear is the moment it became illegal. This is what happens when you use violence to try to address complex social problems, it always achieves the exact opposite of its stated goal. In this case that means that making it illegal for kids to smoke means that more kids will smoke and smart public relations professionals, like the ones in the employ of the cigarette lobby, understand this very well. Frankly though i dont care if you believe me. You can believe what ever you want.

That's not true at all and is some seriously bizarre and twisted logic. I've never heard anyone make this point before. Kids don't just do things because they're illegal. There's many reasons they do, but being illegal probably isn't one of them. Why are they not all strung out on Class As? If they suddenly make cigarettes legal for children are they going to suddenly not want to bother with them?

I also tried the e-cigarette. Can't say I am a fan. I ended up spending a lot more money, and then my e-cig broke and I had to replace it. More money. And no matter how thick you make the vapor, it just isn't smoke! Not the same.

Yeah it will take some people longer than others to get used to it. My friends at work that use e-Cigarettes swear by them now - and enjoy the fact that you can change the flavours, cheaply too.

As a non-smoker I can't really appreciate the difference between that smoking feeling and the e-Cig experience.

well, there are kids who are rebels without a cause.. they break rules because they think it's cool to be above the law.

i don't think that's the entire or even main reason though. i think part of it is peer pressure.. that's what did it for me at least.

I think that a lot of kids get into smoking as it is a social thing. For adults, a lot of people on nights out tend to smoke, or stand in smoking areas as it is a great place to socialise with people away from the loud music.

I've never smoked a cigarette in my life, or anything containing tobacco including cigars. I used to smoke marijuana, though.

yeah, for some it's a social thing.. but most people can't control it. i envy those who can go with smoking a few cigs on the weekends only.
