Spamming: success nice!

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Lol guys you might want to cut back on the spamming a bit... try to limit your scripts to 1 tx per second or longer.

@mrvegad
Thanks for the log. It seems you were hit by the same bug I mentioned earlier where transactions get -1 confirmations. Unfortunately the log did not provide enough information to fix it so we are going to be increasing logging around this issue. If any of you can make it happen again that is always good. If we can actually find a way to reproduce it, it will be easy to fix, but I kind of think it is memory corruption somewhere. Heisenbugs.

I had to delete my wallet and download the chain again. Here is the link to my wallet https://mega.co.nz/#!k4kxlT5T!7-mxmOQuYesI9U--zrqkYb0FhBjclVF5NJjAXmVycbU

New release MD5 2f13159600a22a7a93f2fafc42ddc625 Log:
Added new code to try and trace the -1 confirmations bug. When this condition is detected client will now assert() and crash providing a stack trace that maybe will help. Merged in some code for supporting headers-first syncing.
Looks like we will be implementing headers-first sync before working on downloading the mini-block chain.

[edit] also, what is the procedure for testing new builds? Delete everything and start from scratch? Seems like when I try to keep my old wallet it wont start properly...

?? Just delete the .cryptonite folder. If your wallet contains the -1 conf bug like mrvegad that might be why it's giving you problems. Just delete it and start again.

Rightio sir!
While I am thinking about it, if you had to guess at a time frame for an average pc to earn say 5k coins mining, what would it be? (in minutes) Reason I ask is I am tinkering around with an install script to set up multiple clients across my lan and vps's that might help scale your tests and would want a time before having each instance start spamming.

This depends on the block target time.. an average computer should get 5-25% of blocks which are worth 25k each. I can send you up to 16 million coins if you want..

The block target is 1 per minute but the retargetting algorithm is a type of filter and it takes a lot of blocks to fully adjust.

so sake of caution, call it 10 minutes would be safe? It's not like the clients would need many, just want to make sure it fires up every time.

10 minutes sounds pretty good. Having a script send money when you don't have any likely won't cause any problems. The client just returns "insufficient funds" instead of the transaction hash.
