Totally hear you there about principle. Do you have any historical data which shows other exchanges/market rate(s) going above $500 USD?

Thanks,

A lot of historical data is available, Bitcoinwisdom and BitcoinCharts has Bitstamp, itBit and Bitfinex crossing $500 USD on November 4th. Coinbase hit 499.85, so obviously close. Bitpay apparently uses a basket, but its confidential so we'll never know what weighting each exchange got.

Ok; we looked into this both independently and also acquired 1m interval rates from bitcoinaverage, which use a similar volume-weighted formula to BitPay.

Please see here for the data: https://mega.nz/#!LlkEyA6a
Key: !CdQqTOTsr__KIXDzFEEgplIE-OFzVud9S1GDvhSd7YU

We have also discussed with the rest of the BetMoose team and have concluded the technically just course of action here is cancelling the bet.

FYI Jamphone this would have been a lot easier if you provided some data to work with so we didn't have to spend time pulling it ourselves!

Cheers,

Sorry - I was watching it hop over $500 for a few minutes - didn't even occur to me to bring data off the bat, but of course I should have. Thanks!

only the exact prediction wins?

can I give more than 1 prediction?

where can I see the predictions of other participants?

is this provably fair?

only the exact prediction wins?
>Rules are defined. Only exact prediction wins, but the pot carries over to next week in the event of no winners.

can I give more than 1 prediction?
>Yes you can drag-select and pick multiple, or use the manual input. In fact, you get discounts the more you pick.

where can I see the predictions of other participants?
>Predictions by other participants are in the Orange colour on the Grid. In the future we'll show the amounts there as well.

is this provably fair?
>We're using the bitcoinaverage API source, as defined (little link under the green chart). The first result we receive from their API at 23:00 UTC on the date specified is the result we use.

Hi Temo,

For our main 'Predictions' part of the site, users create their own bets. This host (author of the bet) decided to structure the bet like that. You can create your own bet if you don't like his.

For the odds, they are determined by the people betting. For example, betting 0.5 BTC on that ethereum bet on 'No' would pay out 2.48 BTC.

Creating bets is free, and yes, you get a small commission from the total of all bets for successfully created and resolved bets. As a new user, you would get 0.5% from the total bet volume.

Hey betmoose staff, after discovering this site last week, I'm so far loving it! If it's cool, I have a request when you have the time to compete it. Would it be at all possible to extend the session time of the login cookie? Or even include an option to 'keep me logged in'? I find myself logging in too often.
This would make me happy, thank you again for the site, will be a regular for a while I'm sure  Smiley

Hi, great site.

Is it allowed to make non-time weighted propositions which are duplicates of time weighted ones?

For example there are a few Time Weighted Boxing or MMA propositions and timed weighted is not really appropriate for these bets. It discourages late betting which would be the majority of bets for this sort of sport, people wanting to bet on the day. Information is known in advanced, odds will not change drastically, time weighted is not needed.

Cheers,

Yes you can - the time-weight is optional and is a simple toggle when you create a new prop.

All the bets are user-created, and we admit some are below-par in terms of quality - you do not need to bet on those, feel free to create near-duplicates but with proper conditions.

Hello again BetMoose team!

Found out a couple formatting tricks, and a potential bug (not going to revive the support thread to check)

Consecutive hyphens make a horizonal rule.
Any line followed by a line containing consecutive hyphens will render the text on said line as heading text. This behaviour is prevented by adding a blank newline between the line of text and the hyphens.

I don't know whether or not this was intentional, but it causes some space issues (this is the potential bug). I looked through the FAQ and didn't immediately see anything concerning text formatting. Are there any other formatting tricks? Is it possible to add a blank newline? I've tried combinations of spaces and newlines and it always gets trimmed.

Example:
This code produced the followed image:
Code:
Senators vs. Canucks @ Vancouver
Game starts Thursday, Feb 25, 10:00 PM ET
https://www.nhl.com/gamecenter/ott-vs-van/2016/02/25/2015020914

----
Ottawa Senators [29-26-6] (Atlantic Division) nhl.com/senators
Vancouver Canucks [23-24-12] (Pacific Division) nhl.com/canucks

----
Bets close on puck-drop, 3 hours given for outcome
Games can be watched live online, use google to find livestream.

I am really surprised that Trump doesn't have the main lead here. In most polls he comes in number 1. And Sanders seems to be doing poorly recently.

Not a bug per se.. it's because we use markdown. You can use any 'tricks' that markdown allows for. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markdown

For blank lines, if you don't use something from markdown, you can use shift-space + ALT+255 for a space character which would look like this:

 <-There it is!

New line.

Which on our site would create that line-break you're looking for!
