The question is: Which exchange rate would they take? [..]

Looks like bitstamp.

(compare on https://bitcoinaverage.com/markets#USD )
Hmmm, they should use BitcoinAverage since it grabs the price from all exchanges and takes volume in account. Much better in my opinion.

All exchanges I have seen on BitcoinAverage are legit. And if they don't want to use BitcoinAverage, they should use Preev.

Nice to see more 'proper' mainstream sources are starting to take it seriously now.

Lying or zero fee exchanges...

Anyway, if you follow their thread you can see that they are doing a good job filtering out suspects. If you have any concerns, just send them a quick email.

What is the real BTC/USD exchange rates? Something about "I got 2 btc it's like i got 2*X USD"? Where i can find an X? I understand that X depends on my BTC-to-Fiat system but where i can find more information about "how Bitcoin/USD rates generates" and what is something like "average BTC/USD rate"?

The rate "generates" because somebody bought/sold at that price and then that data is published.

If I understand you correctly, you might find this an interesting read. https://bitcoinaverage.com/explain

Anyone that has even a vague understanding of bitcoin would know that it is not anything close to a ponzi

All of these little tidbits of news are great for BTC.   Not really because we need google to see the price of BTC, but more so because it just puts Bitcoin in front of more people's eyes.  The more recognition it has, the more and more it will be adopted...
This should allow more people to discover and explore bitcoin. Over the long term it should help get more people to use bitcoin

This spot for rent.

Google is an internet GIANT. This further legitimizes and mainstreams bitcoin. Although I'm surprised yahoo finance beat google to adding charts for bitcoin. Once other altcoins like LTC gets big enough, I'm sure they'll follow suit.

I doubt any of the alts will ever make it on to major finance sites as they generally can only be traded for BTC as apposed for actual goods/services (virtually no merchants accept them). They are also tiny when compared to bitcoin

Of course it is, it's what it's used for. It's only the US govt that considers it an asset, and we're all better off for it.
