I think that the plays should be posted prior to the games starting.

We had planned to do this from the beginning but it is too easy to copy another player's wagers in that case.  We are updating the rankings now after the round of 16 has now been reduced to the round of 8.  If a player sees an error in their score, please message us so that we can update the rankings accordingly.  Thank you. 

I was right. Someone from Facebook or Twitter will win, also known as a Betcoinsports employee, that picks all winners after the games are over.

The only problem with that statement is the players on Facebook and Twitter have all posted their picks prior to the games.  Their profiles are public and you can message them directly anytime.  It has been the players on BitcoinTalk through forums and pm's that have complained about posting picks prior to the games, which we certainly understand.  BetcoinSports.com employees are not permitted to play in our contests. 

Also, why didn't you enter the contest?  With the time you have spent reading through and commenting on the thread you could have won some good btc!

I bet at Betcoinsports but forgot about the contest. I have a lot of losers and missed games so I know that I don't have a chance. You still shouldn't hide plays until the last game. No contest hides plays this early except for you. Some hide the plays but it's the last day only. Contests are all rigged when the plays are hidden. It's just how these things roll.

I guess as long as Betcoin verifies both sites, it should be ok. IMO in theory the best way would be this: make a "secret" word + your pick of the winner, then make a SHA512 of it. Post this before the game. After the game you post the "secret" so people can verify your pick, without knowing your pick in advance. Provably fair World Cup promotion But this might be too hard for some (actually there are online SHA512 generators, so this is really easy.) For example:

Your solution would be exceptional, however very few would actually take the time to do it unfortunately.  We really do look forward to rewarding our winners.

We appreciate you playing with us.  We show the plays and players are upset and we hide the players and players are upset.  Players are always going to be upset, however we will be awarding the prize and we look forward to it.

This is a great contest and it's appreciated but I can't see why anyone wants "ALL" of the plays posted after the games. Can someone speak up if they think it's fair for the plays to be posted after the games have concluded? No one is going to take Costa Rica. If Costa Rica does win and there is dishonesty going on someone will have Costa Rica. I would rather see strategy in play than cheating.

I have Germany and Brazil on Thursday.

I do agree picks should be posted in advance to make it more transparent. But can I post it with my SHA512 method? This way I don't have to show my picks in advance. And yet everyone can verify my picks and see the hash posted before the game, matches the pick that is later revealed (ill give easy instructions for that.)

Unfortunately we did not have enough time to alert everybody to post these in advance, however the semifinals, runner up game and finals will all be posted in advance.  We thank everyone for their feedback.
