I am about to start a Podcast called "Bitcoin Town" some time in the next few weeks.
Does anyone know anyone that might want to be a guest?

And it's just a Google Hangout, or Skype.

Sub to the channel if you want to check out the Podcast, it will start soon, we already have content about "Bitcoin Town" (a plan for a town to be made in the next 5-20 years)

I'm here not to suggest a guest, but to tell you, the idea is brilliant.

Why you try to host an online radio as a future move ?

You can also record that hangout or Skype conversation, and make YouTube channel and post it there.

You can reach the world, make it spread Smiley

hate to say it but finshaggy may have finally found his place in life. i know in the past all he was after was a money grab, but this idea could be his legit way of making money.

if he grabbed enough content to have a days worth of radio stream, and he got people to pay him some money to add their 10-30 second advertising, in betwen the proper content, he could actually have a viable service to offer. thats if the interviews and other non advert content was kept to high quality information that grabbed and kept peoples attention.

all i would say is to finshaggy, either prapare a template of content, a script to follow and have a plan. as we all know your mind does wonder and meander off topic and moves beyond obsurd sometimes. so try to keep a structure and organise your stuff. and you can probably make alot of advertising revenue whilst also offering information that keeps peoples attention (summary: dont waffle)

LOL @Dumbass
I have never (in my life) made a "Money Grab". I can point you to people that DO make money grabs, even to the point that they have grabbed my money after pointing a gun at me.

I just like to write, and grow weed, and bring people together and help people get things done. That is what I am doing now, that is what I was doing always.
Ex: Just look at when I was working on Devcoin stuff all the time. I NEVER even bought things for myself. Just my family and for Youtube.

A small sample of quotes from FinShaggy from the other Bitcoin town thread.

Quote
We will be writing a town constitution

Quote
we will be allowing people to sell or rent out their plots

Quote
we will be voting on what the land can be used/sold for

Quote
Anyone with no project plans will be lumped together to make a giant plot to rent out for air balloon landings

Quote
Housing won't have any restrictions except for height

Quote
And the person will go to jail, or whatever is decided as punishment

Quote
a town where no one pays taxes

Quote
the prison is paid YOUR taxes based on how many beds it fills

Quote
we could even try to use town funds to buy a private island

Quote
One of those places should start getting government funding, and start housing families & Veterans.

Quote
The libraries should have public printing machines to promote free speech.

Quote
There should also be a publishing program

Quote
We need to have better welfare for regular citizens and veterans

Quote
The government needs to provide for those people

Quote
Computers...everyone should have one no matter how poor. TVs too.

Quote
You only get a Earthship if you want a FREE house

Quote
we will eventually build a radio studio in town

Quote
Exercise programs in the town square every morning.

Quote
we could get a good educational program going and maybe even start our own university

Quote
We would eventually get a bus, then start a fleet

Quote
But once we got enough communal town funds we could work on that.

Quote
We actually hope to make a local restaurant and turn it into a national franchise

Quote
we would need a state of the art medical facility

Quote
The police, health, fire and other government departments should also utilize these programs to earn extra income by creating "cops" like programs, which will also keep them honest since they have viewers.

Quote
We also hope to open a hatchery, and make a lake if we don't start with one.

Quote
we need to go to each church and offer them contracts to not be churches any more

Quote
we find churches that need funding, and pay them to be "community centers"

Quote
opening a non-denominational church in town

Quote
This will be the local religion

Quote
church employees can get a government salary

Quote
We will have plenty of local holidays over time

Quote
There needs to be people that come to every party and bring free food or at least drinks/alcohol

Quote
You need to gather for a reason, not just because it's the weekend or you want to party

Quote
all a community has to work towards is developing shops, housing and eventually public buildings

Quote
I even believe that animals should be liberated and humans should be taught to communicate through body language with animals

Quote
The only way a plant can talk is with its chemicals (ex Poison: Don't touch/eat me) Learn to communicate on a level deeper than speech.

Quote
Everyone would have a machine that they repaired, or checked on.

Quote
you pay for the electricity, you mine the coins, but you give some shit away for free

Quote
Candy Contest, have people make home made candy and have a contest. And it could fit in well with Halloween in the square.

Quote
Classrooms should utilize programs like AdSense and Bitcoin mining. Parents and kids should have to sign a waiver saying that students CAN use their cell phones, cameras and other devices in the classrooms of teachers that deem it acceptable.

Quote
I am working on plenty of Charitable projects

Quote
New Mexico has awesome laws

Quote
Drug dealers would be arrested.

Quote
Manufacturing & Selling cocaine isn't a victimless crime. And neither is prostitution.

Quote
it's illegal to manufacture guns

Quote
I plan on hiding nothing and cooperating (with police) whenever asked.

Quote
We will just have to defend the guy in court

Quote
we can start a political party based on the towns philosophy

Quote
You have to work if you want a share of communal food

Quote
we will not have ongoing outside programs inside our town

Quote
It would be child friendly, we even allow children to vote if they want.

Quote
Education will be non traditional...They will still have the traditional subjects, but they won't be taught like lectures so much.

Quote
We will have a program for children and adults that will work towards creating all kinds of community projects

Quote
We will make dirt bikes legal.

Quote
I would be the one that got tax forms and everything I already plan on that
(for the $2 million land purchase)

Quote
we would work out getting everyone their territory afterwards

Quote
I have plans for a space program. And the creation of a non-territorial nation.

tl;dr
Quote
I've been in court for weed my whole life, but now I have a medical card for it.

Here we go again...the FinShaggy dictatorship.

+1

i do love how he is still having the 'bitcoin town' dreams. i am trying to bring him to reality that he needs to find a role in life that atleast he can truly own and manage responsibly. i think a live radio show where he has stacked up enough content the night before to fill a days broadcast, and interviews, will be something he can actually achieve, and monetize.

just a shame he spends more time dreaming up idea's that involve large amount of funds being hoarded before a brick is even layed (bitcoin town/island/restaurant chain/jersey shore tv shows/farms/communions/alcohol distilleries/perfume factories). So i do hope he takes this advise and actually stops dreaming up billionaire dreams of grabbing funds from other people without doing any work. but instead starts working and gets funding the proper way. from actually offering a service.

If you would like more "material" for your quote mining, I am making a new video series, kinda like the last one, but much more informative this time around.

Bud Light stole the idea, and my likeness. I bet they are laughing at the Bitcoin community for rejecting it.

Quote
I'm not trying to sue or anything, I just want to point this out...

I had this idea a little over a year ago, to make a town in 5-20 years.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=224478.0

Someone wrote an article about it
http://www.vocativ.com/tech/bitcoin...mmunities-might-be-coming-to-a-town-near-you/

In another forum, spearheaded by user FinShaggy (who may or may not be the same person as YouTuber Billy ThaKid), bitcoin hopefuls strategize the establishment of Bitcoin Town, a town in New Mexico where bitcoin lovers can live together in peace and harmony. The plans for Bitcoin Town, which as of now will be constructed in New Mexico, are intricate. FinShaggy has already come up with a town hot sauce (the fruit of the hot New Mexican sun!) and a town “sweat lodge,” and he has researched over 20 available plots of land for the town’s construction. The town will (eventually) use bitcoin as its primary currency.

Bud Light is making a town. And the Town's Mayor has long hair, a beard, and red shoes...

That law was changed AFTER the original idea for bitcoin town, and this problem has already been discussed at length in old videos that you guys liked to ignore.

we like to ignore your videos, because they are all vapour.. (words without action), after the first 1 minute concept you then meander into the realm of dreamland. thus people give up caring about what you have to say. hense why i advise you to not waffle and making random thought sentances. but instead plan your content, prepare a script and make the videos in a prepared structure.

as for the tax.. the law has not changed. bitcoin is not taxable. no IRS building in the world accepts bitcoins. what is taxible is the FIAT gains people make. whether its from selling large paintings, cars, stocks,shares.. its not about the asset. its about the FIAT gains.. there is nothing new or special that has changed. bitcoin has just been declared an asset. which means the OLD and unchanged ASSET rules around taxes still apply.,

even before being declared a asset. if you suddenly became flush with alot of FIAT, IRS would not ignore it.. it would still have been taxed.
