the thing is, if they release their official price tomorrow and adjust their website for orders I dont think alot of people here will want to wait around (myself included)
I can see 50% or more jumping ship and just buying direct

Agreed. But it depends what kind of price a bulk order can get. If it's a good miner, most of us will buy a couple over the next few weeks. So this might be good for a second, third, or whatever, miner. @ Waldohoover - Forgive me I did not read every page. Have you had any contact with Bitmain yet?

I believe they haven't finalized their prices as of yet and will not do so until right before their site goes live. This obviously doesn't do us any good but Bitmain isn't stupid. I know they are steadily watching their announcement thread (and maybe here) for the speculative price talk that is going on. I'm sure a lot of that talk gets considered when they do price out their miners. I could be wrong though but as a manufacturer who is for the community I'm sure they do not throw out the idea of community agreed pricing. I would not be at all surprised it they know the price, it's been set for more than a week, and they only take a cursory look at the speculation thread. I'm not sure they are that into us.

I'd be interested for the upgrade kit.
For now this is just the straight S3, haven't been in talks about the kits, sorry! That's cool, I'll await the pricing tomorrow and we can go from there. Where are you located in California? Sounds good! LA/OC region. Not sure which location I'll use for S/R as of yet, if at all. Cool, If you want some help shipping out orders let me know, I'm in Anaheim.

To thread initiator:
I speculate that the price is 0.85BTC as I mentioned on the main thread.
I suggest that you either remove the info on suggested price or give it a larger bracket, for fairness sake.

You speculate 0.85 BTC for the Bitmain's retail price or 0.85 BTC for Waldohoover's group buy? Because either way, Waldohoover's rate in theory should be lower than the one that will be listed on the website soon.

The price has to be near this mark. Give or take a little bit. I'm afraid BITMAIN is basing their long term ROI on forecasted prices of Bitcoin which they should not. If that's the case, their price will likely be too high - I am guessing they will declare a value over 1 BTC. If that's the case, I will not be ordering the 25-50 units I was planning to.

Not going to just change my average speculation rate based on what you may think it is, sorry. then simply say: my guesstimate or my speculation...because it is based on what? i bought some BTC today specifically for S2/S3 order, but I will simply hold it if price is near anything of what you say. I've got S1 in early to mid march and my ROI per each unit in BTC is ~20% with almost uninterrupted service (minus 4 days vacation) plus cash (~$250 EBAY after fees, minus $115 for electricity, minus $50-60 power supply=$75-80 remainder). I don't count any work that I put into it. These are meager returns. If price is high, i wont do mining at all (at least not with s3).

Not going to just change my average speculation rate based on what you may think it is, sorry. Your average speculation values are largely that, speculation. And poor speculation. You shouldn't have those values there. It's counterproductive. If S1 units were 0.4 BTC, and hashed at 200 gH/s, and these hash at 500 gH/s then the price should be NO MORE than 1 BTC. However, the difficulty has gone up, and the fact they're more energy efficient does not make all that of a difference (considering the difficulty jump). If these miners are any more than 1 BTC, I suggest no one buys them.

Exactly. If you (thread initiator) made a thread to gauge interest, why post some [possibly incorrect] prices? This is distracting.

Then remove your speculation values. edit: you removed them. thanks

If the price is 1 BTC or less, I'm in for 1. If the price with incentives for existing customers or any other early-adopter promotion brings the price below 0.8 BTC I'm in for 4 or more!
Please Bitmain price this at or below the break-even point!
